    Afternoon all.

We now have a "smart meter" I am sure my OCD will go into overdrive now and I'm even planning on keeping a diary of usage.

That's going to need a spreadsheet.....

Lilly; Reggie stays inside when we're at work (unless he comes to work with me). That way I know he's safe and isn't cooking himself in the sunshine! I have a security camera that watches him. Most days he barely gets off my favourite chair til my car pulls up!

Dove; I'm thinking of creating something with grasses to add some height to make things more interesting in the winter possibly with great big allium purple balls in the spring / summer.

Maybe with daffodils behind the rushes for that first push of colour before the height in the pond arrives.

Really I need to see the finished thing to see if I'd like it as my imagination is lacking. I think the area around my pond will see many redesigns and plants being moved. :/

Went to see son 2 yesterday afternoon. He moved into his new town house last week. It has a great conservatory and a rather formal garden with clipped box hedges and bamboos. I think it looks very French. His new baby is cute and well behaved (meaning he doesn't cry a lot or give them sleepless nights!)

I went for my first swim yesterday evening, water was 26°. It turned into a hot day 31°.
We picked another load of raspberries last night, in the cool of the evening, not that cool though!

OH left for England today and I should have been driving a friend to Niort to help get a flat ready for a refugee family. My friend (English) runs a charity for refugees. But it has been postponed, thanks to French bureaucracy and paperwork. My family and friends are all so lucky having beautiful houses here. But there are so many, a lot from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, who had houses and jobs and have been driven out by ISIS and the Taliban. When the camps at Calais were closed something had to be done about finding alternatives and people are still being picked up off the pavements by charities and sent here. A family from Iraq last year left their house at knifepoint and were found wandering and homeless. They had four children and Mum was pregnant. They are Christians and wouldn't join ISIS. They now have a home and a job not far from here.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I am not particularly religious but do think more should have been done for " Christian " in the Middle East !

Evening all, Been looking after Mabel today and running Merri around, she has had to do a radio interview to promote a show her drama group is performing on Saturday.  She was very excited, bless her, apparently it's right up there with the XFactor.

No gardening apart from watering but I have a free day tomorrow so hopefully will get some more deadheading done and maybe mow the lawns again.

Had a new fitbit and trying to sort out the software link to my phone app.  Not having much luck at the moment, not really technically minded so may have to wait until Firstborn can sort it out.

Great to hear things are coming together for you DD, look forward to seeing the photos.

Glad the foot is improving Dove.

    Hugs P'doc.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Those sort of programmes are a great tonic - I will IPlayer the Japan programme as it sounds fab.

It's supposed to be much warmer Sat-Tues - I'm really craving some late evenings sitting outside so fingers crossed.

    Take care everybody.
