Evening all. Is it evening? Bl***y feels like it anyway.
Been slightly absent from this thread in the last few days. Won't bore you with it all. Haven't felt very chatty.
Yes Dove and Tbird - we had a certain party looking for rosettes on Monday afternoon. Yes - we said we'd do 'some', but they'd have to pick them up - on Tuesday. Yes that's fine. Colleague stayed till half ten (unpaid) on Monday night doing them. 'Party' phoned by my colleague on Tuesday morning. No one came. Wednesday - they were phoned again. She (who 'deals with it' ) wasn't there - she'll phone back, we were told. She eventually phoned back - at almost 4pm. 'We're too busy - can you deliver them?'. 'Yes - they'll go in the carrier/post tomorrow and you'll get them the next day.
'But there's an election tomorrow.....'
Fancy that - we never knew.
I'm going later to vote. It won't be for them. If they can't even organise that, how can they do anything else. Scunnered with the whole lot of them.
P*ssing down here. At least it's warmer than it was on Tuesday when it was ten degrees all day. It's been eleven today! That's almost barbecue weather
I may read back properly now.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
All Pharmacies in UK accept used medicines. (DOOP) They all go to be incinerated. The storage conditions and possible risk of contamination cannot be guaranteed and so they cannot be reissued to other patients. We used to send unopened, sealed packages in date to foreign aid, but the aid agencies said that if they were not good enough for UK patients, they are not good enough for patients in war and Famine zones. So it all goes to waste. I won't go into how many times I get a black bin bag brought back by someones relative, and when we open it up there are several months worth of unopened medicines, more ordered when they had plenty and were not using them, all because it is their "right"(and it is free). we don't get a lot back from patients who pay for their prescriptions. When some tablets are £1 each, and some inhalers over a hundred pounds a throw, I get somewhat wound up.
On a day when I am getting wound up by politicians, and their minions, don't get me started.
Someone outside the polling station asked if she could see my card. She got a curt NO, its supposed to be a secret ballot, and she shrank back. The polling officer at the door smirked.
The jehovahs witnesses at the door got a short answer as well. I do not want to go to a convention in Coventry.
Hello Fairy ((lots of hugs)) .... been thinking of you ...
Right, we've done our duty .... Presiding Officer informed me that if you have a medical emergency such as mine you can apply for an Emergency Proxy up to 5pm on the day of the Poll
I doubt they'd manage to find their way to the brewery without a Sherpa and a decent compass T'bird. As we say here - they couldn't score in a barrel of fa**ies .....
Thanks Hosta. I've posted a few times on other threads, but just not here. All that stuff at the weekend got to me a bit. Grateful for what I have when I see all the sh**e that happens. A little bit of bird watching and doing simple things helps to get a sense of perspective for a little while.
Is it too soon to hope for impeachment in Trumpsville?

Afternoon all. I've done my bit; unfortunately though keen and easily excitable the people in the polling station did admit it had been quiet.
Quiet is the name of the game alas; at an "awareness day" for a local hospice today we had the grand sum of ZERO members of public attend.
I feel quite sorry for the organisers, the poor lass who made enough food for a small army and thry even insisted on doing that raffle that all eight of us had entered (31 prizes; most will be back in the next raffle).
Very breezy here. I'm feeling very tired and quite tempted to climb into bed.
Fidget - we have free prescriptions up here, and I don't doubt that it will contribute to the piles of waste. It's not acceptable when the NHS is struggling in so many ways. Most people I know feel that even if everyone who is in paid employment paid £1 - surely that helps. I think it was a big vote winner at the time
Off to do our civic duty.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Hi Fairy, missed you?
Shocking day, had to go up to the orthodontist on the north side of town. Grim traffic.
oh did all the driving bless him, my eye would have worried me, why is spray sooooooo awful?
how was Chatsworth today?

I see Chatsworth was perhaps a bit better today?
