Well done to Possum, Obelixx. You can all now enjoy a relatively relaxed summer.
Dove, toss a toasted crumpet this way please
Liri, hope your back improves soon.
I was very impressed that the hospital dietician phoned me this morning to find out what OH likes to eat and that she would his food pureed. He is having an excellent standard of care
Can't stand crumpets, but cherry scones and chocolate cake, now that's a different matter.
It's been lovely today, all cool and rainy. I've been out cutting back salvias and looking at possible planting spots for a couple of new geraniums and a painted fern I have bought. Also popped to Ashwoods and bought a few bits and bobs to make a summer door wreath.
No nanna duty until next Wednesday so I have a few days off, might sow some foxgloves for next year.
Joyce ((hugs)) ... don't forget to tell them about little things like sauces ... Pa loved Daddies' Brown Sauce (or at a push, HP) ... when your food is pureed and you don't have the texture to make it interesting, a little spicyness can add so much to a meal. Pa's appetite picked up when he found that he had the option to add some brown sauce to those piles of coloured purée.
And hopefully, they will puree the constituent parts of his meal separately so he has pureed carrots, pureed potatoes, pureed peas etc, not a dish of brown mush. Pa liked to know what he was eating and the staff at The Lovely Home always pointed at each different coloured pile and told him what it was.

Dove, for some weeks now hubby has only been eating soup, pudding and pureed fruit. He gets the tang of the fruit and enjoys it. The hospital soup is just like home made, no powdered stuff.
Sounds good Joyce as long as he's happy .... Pa had to have all his food pureed for several years as he had dysphagia following a stroke ... his favourite dessert was jelly and ice cream .... just occasionally he would have ice cream and jelly .... as he said, it's good to have a change
