Hi Dove . hate ironing. Was delighted when my daughter said that she would do the ironing.I am not sure  she enjoys it either . But I do most of the cleaning .??. I dislike that too. Don't mind hard work as long as it's in the garden.

My husband-to-be stood beside the ironing board and waved the iron about ineffectually until his wee sister snatched it from his hand in frustration. I never EVER did that.

I am proud to say he is now shirt ironer extraordinaire.

One of the first times he stayed in my house I went into the bathroom and there were his wet towels on the floor. I got into bed and said " I am neither your maid nor your mother...get them lifted". He never did it again.

Evening all, sorry for being awol (again) just so busy can't get near the computer. All well except I have hit a problem with house completion due on the 26th (Monday). My bank doesn't open on Mondays - don't ask, this is France. Trying to get around the problem, without driving to Bordeaux and back (3 hours away). The sellers have a ferry booked in Calais on the 27th, but as nice as they are, and they are really, really nice it isn't really my problem. One day is a delay I don't need but not the end of the universe. image

They have been very kind though and allowed the builder to commence work on the terrace in advance of the sale, so at least the concrete will be dry. I am trying my best to make life easy for them, but banks seem to be a rule unto themselves. image

A minor detail I know but I have acquired several, as in many several, Sempervivums (can't spell that) and am engrossed in making little miniature table decorations from them in sand for the outside tables. details, details I know, but I can't get to the big stuff yet.

Bizzy Lizzie, I promise to phone tomorrow about teacups but I am in a meeting from 9 - 11 at least with Tourist Information Office and am then travelling up to Limoges to meet a coffee machine salesman and see the 'local' cash & carry. Also, Charlie is in a competition at athletics so might have to be taxi driver. But, I will try and find a moment. image

Love to you all, daren't read too far back, I need sleep. image

DD I better ring you. I didn't see the lady with tea cups at church as I didn't go because of my painful hip and leg.

Here is update, don' read if it's too boring!

Been to the Doc, not my normal one as his surgery was full to bursting and he doesn't do appointments. Went to another, I know him anyway, he gave me an appointment this evening. The pain was because of a trapped nerve. Treatment is rest and strong painkillers. General aches and pains are arthritis. He gave me a good examination to eliminate other causes of the pain. He said I have arthritis in the right knee, he's pretty sure I have it in the lower spine and he thinks my right hip is arthritic too. I need X Rays for knee hip and spine and he wants them to do spine for osteoporosis too. I have a painful lower vertebra when he touched it in a certain way. Gardening is forbidden for at least 5 days. In a way it was a relief to be told. I always feel I'm being a failure if I complain if something hurts.

Glad you saw the doc. BL.

Just make sure you heed his advice and don't go running about.

Busy, hope the strong analgesic will enable you to sleep at night and move with less pain during the day.
