A term used by my father when he was at a committee room just outside the polling station. He used to count heads for his party .A bad weather day he expected a heavier (pole) for one party . Good weather a heavier (pole) for another party. I think it's probably a local expression.
Yes I think you are right . Americas politics seem to loom large in the news , especially since Trump.!
I wasn't suggesting they discuss politics PP but they could cover attendances. After all, they've done pics of dogs left outside polling stations whilst their owners vote!

Love dogs. Got two but wouldn't leave them tied up anywhere. I did get the feeling the chap presenting that item found it embarrassing.
They could be covering the upcoming French elections where the new president hasn't a single MP yet because he's a whole new party of 1 - so far. Should be interesting for France and the EU and Brexit.

Don't worry about dyslexia Ruby. Lots of us have dyslexic fingers, if not brains.
Whose idea was it to paint an old IKEA LP storage unit red? It's going to be like those pesky stripes and need umpteen coats, despite thorough surface prep!
Need to go and get clean now as we have to leave for dancing in an hour!

BBC don't have politics on polling day Obes. I suppose it's in case they are seen to be influencing folk with talk of exit polls and the like.
I'm pretty sure our Pharmacies accept drugs back for safe disposal. They even have a funky name for it but I'm old and can't remember it.
Gorgeous clems Hosta. Surely you don't need them both.

Does anyone know what is eating bedding begonias this year. I have had some damage for a few weeks, but since the heavy rain it has got worse.
I am dislexic ( mildly )so please excuse errors.
Just bought some giant cowslips . Looking forward to seeing the flowers!?
Coo Ruby. I thought begonias were pretty much bomb proof! Earwigs maybe? I blame them for everything. Someone'll be along soon who might know better.
I thought it might be slugs but most articles suggest they are fairly slug and snail resistant so I'm not sure.
Can you post a photo of the damage Ruby? Could it be rabbits? - they're little bu$$ers for eating everything as well.
right, My civic duty has been completed.
Polling station was rather busy
The RHS doesn't mention any pests for begonias but this site seems to think that slugs, snails, caterpillars and aphids may be a problem - http://homeguides.sfgate.com/eats-begonias-71258.html
