My friends daughter is doing the reverse. She has had a year in Adelaide, and is about to come back to Nottingham, then a final year in Leeds. Unfortunately a Ladies football team in Adelaide has asked her to stay. She used to play for Leicester ladies , and once played in the England ladies junior team.  It doesn't pay for women though, so she has to come back and finish her degree.

Wait until she decides at the last minute that she wants to come home for Christmas. You will need to book the plane tickets now if she will want to do that.

Ooh Chicky.  It's hard sin't it?  Possum got very emotional when we keft her at her apartment last September after gong back to camp for our last night at the old house and I had to be bracing and encouraging and sympathetic all at once.   She already had her flight booked for Xmas and knew we'd be back for a long weekend in November.   Then she enjoyed herself so much at Xmas - against her best intentions - that she asked to come back in January and March and Easter and now we get 2 months of her this summer.

Dove - I find live music always has the base turned up too high and it' vibrates in my sternum so I stick to CDs and my old LPs now.   I have finally managed to get OH to help me lift the old cooker out of the dining room and into the ruin so I can have a dining room when the 2 SILs and BIL descend next weekend.  Can't get 5 round the table in teh kitchen without making a traffic jam.   Hope to eat outdoors most of the time anyway tho the forecast is looking dodgy.

Now to put that wardrobe back together while he walks the dogs without me.  Cosmos got his claw stuck in the soft bit under my foot this morning and it's sore now.  I have enough bovver with my feet without kitten attacks!

Bon appetit everyone, whatever you're eating.

I like Status Quo, shame front man is ill.

It's our village fête this weekend. Didn't fancy petonque this afternoon or the meal this evening, always rather chewy and fatty. Will be fire works this evening but not until about 11pm.

Have weeded the oval bed and half the upper trellis bed. Have just finished eating outside under the pergola. Sole with broad beans and the first courgette from the garden followed by garden raspberries.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Dead headed absolutely loads of nigella today, and still they will throw seeds everywhere.

Picked up lots of tiny windfall apples and now my back is killing me, but not allowed to moan as OH will be worse as hes been hard at the decking again today. Ive given him a bit of a challenge to accomodate the new willows, he said it was impossible, we almost fell out, we but he's found a way so all is rosey again! Darent tell him all the other plans, he's already frowning at the 'Japanese' corner (I want plants he wants rattan corner sofa).

    Have a good evening all.

People come and go on here... it's a pity, but there's still plenty of banter and chat.  image

Just to say, Obelixx (and anyone else who might be interested) - I've just posted some photos of Finland on the Camera Corner thread.  image

Mrs Garden, do you eat the Nigella seeds?  They are what some people call Black Sesame seeds that get sprinkled on bread rolls etc. rather a nice smoky flavour.
