Lily P, hope the optician has good news and it feels more comfortable soon. You're right, it's so easy to get bits in your eyes, or, like Wonky, scratch them with sharp bits of stem etc.
Sunny here at the moment, but we have rain predicted for late morning onwards, so I must get going with the jobs. That includes knocking on doors trying to collect money for Christian Aid - not my favourite activity but it's for a good cause... my neighbours in the street are fine, but those who don't know me are sometimes grumpy, or even abusive - as if I were lining my own pockets. I now have a list of houses not to call at. I'm fine with people not wanting to contribute, for whatever reason, but I don't feel I should be abused for asking. I guess it would be more acceptable to some, if the name were changed; I've tried explaining that though it was started by Christians, it helps anyone, regardless of religion etc, but I don't think people want to hear.
I wonder if I can empty my weed bucket yet? I must go and see if the spiderlings are still there. I looked them up, Pat - yes, as Fairy says, the garden spider, Araneus diadematus. Very common in most of Britain. They spin orb webs which are lovely in the garden.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
No internet for a while SSO a huge amount to catch up on!
Lilyp, be careful with that eye! Keep an eye on it! mines better now thanks Liri, but it was two days of sore streaming and headaches.
Clari, love the dog! Looks like he still has zest for an adventure!
On the subject of spending fior the same of it, never understood why folks need a new sofa every easter and boxing day! I'd rather have family time with no shops whatsoever! Our sofa is still in mint condition ten years on, not sure if its a fashionable style or colour but my bum likes it!
After SO much rain, just after I'd watered the garden, the sun is finally out! luckily I've been mainly sowing seeds in the greenhouse at work, not sure how many thousands!
No plans for the weekend! Hope everyone has a lovely day!
Morning Joyce! Morning Dove! pinch myself sometimes cuz I love my job and the setting is so amazing! Ten duckings, a red squirrel, partriges, pheasents, long tailed tits, cootes, morhens, sorry about spell check, posting on phone, don't mind the planting out or the tough jobs but blinking happy when I'm home for the weekend!
The week has gone quickly Dove! It was a lovely day want it!

Another rubbish night. Awake until about 3am.
Lots to do today as the undergardener is here.
LP, Hosta hugs from me .
Morning Hosta
enjoy the gardening ... maybe have 40 winks after lunch (but set an alarm so you don't overdo it).
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
