I suspect the quarry garden may look entirely different up close ... I think the scale and the contrast of the formal shapes with the wild-type planting just don't come over on TV.
Liked what we saw of Chris B's garden ... Hopefully well see more of if tomorrow after the judges have cogitated and pronounced.
Falling asleep now ... Sleep tight everyone

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hideous " abdo episode" yesterday evening. Wave after wave of " screaming in pain, curled up in a ball" levels of pain for over an hour. When it passed, I felt like I'd been kicked repeatedly in the stomach.
No dinner, couldn't face eating anything and I couldn't even raise a comment throughout the whole of the Chelsea programme at 8. Went to bed at 9 , slept until 12. Now wide awake.
Oh, Hosta. So sorry it's back. I hope they can give you some answers soon. Even if they give you some relevant medication for when it happens - sort of like when people who are allergic to bee stings and can give themselves a shot of whatever they use.
I'm well and bouncing around the house until we're both ready to go to town for groceries.
My veggie garden is looking really bare now, but it makes me happy to be out there digging up weeds that I couldn't see before and thinking about whether to give it a light dig over before spreading manure or just giving it a light rake over and letting the worms do all the work. I've noticed some scarab grubs when I've dug things up, so they get the heave-ho where birds can find them. The Christmas beetles lay their eggs in the soft soil. I've moved all the delicates into the GH and they are looking sprightly.
i don't envy you all getting high temps, although I realise you'll enjoy it.
Hubby has just given me the nod that he is ready to leave. Catch you later. Hope you can get some more sleep.
Hello Hosts and Pat ... I'm wide awake ... Doesn't often happen but it has tonight ... Hosta ((hugs)). Hope they can find out what's wrong soon and sort if out quickly.
Just listening to the news from Manchester ...

Pretty photos LG and Obelixx.
Congratulations Liri and to son and DIL.
I didn't like the quarry garden either. Chris Beardshaw's garden seemed to be the only one with flowers in it. Are flowers out of fashion?
Been planting up pots today, got quite hot this afternoon.
It's obviously lily beetle day. I squashed 2 adults on my fritillaries this afternoon - haven't found any revolting young (yet) though...

Thank you, BL and Dove. I keep thinking about my happy news with a little thrill of delight - they've been "trying" for quite a while.
I think you're right about the show gardens looking different in 3D, Dove.
Morning all.

Feeling particularly sorry for myself.
Liri, congrats on your family news. Do they live close to you so that you can get lots of cuddles?
