Lovely isn't it Joyce? I can almost see things growing!

the boys are back! Screaming round the yard, in and out the woodshed and rather dangerously the garage which gets locked every night  I love them tho

Afternoon all. The school have gone; some blood (he was very brave), a few suspiciously sticky liquid spillages in the classroom, but otherwise entirely chunder free. That's my last school gone! Tomorrow is a day of paperwork and the boss deciding what he wants from me (it's all on my personal laptop of course).

Joyce: I get the weekend (chores list is looking depressingly long) and Monday off before i start my new job; the plumbers are coming on Monday so unfortunately there will be no generous days out or pampering sessions. I was going to go to a special event on Saturday but it looks like I've got to be sensible and stay at home as I can't risk spending the money on fuel knowing my current boss is bloody useless and so goodness knows when my final wage cheque will appear.

Still. New job have even asked for in case of emergency contact details do I am a little more confident that while my wages will be much less; at least they'll not bounce sky high.

Please send some rain here. I mean for goodness sake it's Yorkshire! I can't remember the last time I moistened my flat cap!!

Clari ... reliable wages cheques will be a definite improvement image  I think you've been incredibly forbearing.

I've sorted out the front bed, weeding and mulching with lots of well rotted compost (the soil there is almost like sand) and planted a rosemary, Sedum spectabile 'Autumn Joy', Verbascum 'Helen Johnson', Penstemon 'Heavenly Blue'  and lots of Narcissus Minnow that were in pots earlier on.  I've taken the shears to the Clematis cirr. 'Freckles' and disentangled it from the Vib. Bodnantense, given the new plants and the clematis a good soaking and applied a moss killer to the front lawn. 'They' have promised that it'll rain tomorrow to water it in.

In the back garden everything has had a really good soaking and I've done a bit more hoeing and weeding.

Now there's a ragu chuntering on the hob for a spag. bol. for supper image

I've also started a list of the stuff I'm taking to Wonky on Saturday image

Clari - good luck to you - you've been treated miserably in that place. It may be less money in the new one - but at least you'll get it!

I misread that comment about rain - I thought you said 'moistened my cat flap'. That's a whole different website altogether  image

We've got rain forecast - for the weekend. Typical image

I timed my weed and feed very carefully Dove. It rained exactly on time to water in, and it's barely rained since. I've had to use the hosepipe. Ridiculous  image

We had meatballs last night - freshly grown basil for them. Yum  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Evening all. Hubby home with some lovely tomato plants from Homebase, and I've just collected 10 more, plus 2 chilies via freecycle. I'm a happy chappy.image

The manager at Lidl in Bude didn't seem a very "happy chappy" in the slightest when I took him outside and pointed out that every single Hosta they had, were wrongly labelled. They had picture labels which didn't match the plants. " It's a bit annoying" I said " but Trading Standards might see it as more than that"

A bit more rain, but I've still go the sprinkler going.

I've just come across Bodmin Moor and the rain was so heavy you couldn't see where the road was!

Lyn, it's soft gentle rain we want so that plants don't get flattened.

Fairy,if you're lucky you wont get rained off at the weekend......depending where you are planning to walk.
