Not something I would like to repeat either, fairy.

Good morning all.  Good to see you Bushman.

We had thunder last night but distant and no rain.   Clouds all gone now except for some hazy stuff and heading for another scorchio today.   I ended up waiting for the relative cool of the evening to start planting the new bed.  The soil is bone dry so will need lots of watering.

Clari - I have a feeling your OH won't notice the state of the house as he'll be exhausted.

Dove - have you got knitting to keep you distracted?   Bird watching?

Great photos FG.   Pat - your peppers should ripen on a  sunny windowsill.   Love the colour of those streps.

    Me too fairy! imageimage

Sorry about absence everyone, hope all are ok, Lilyp, hope your eye is on the mend and Dove, poor Dove! I'll grow lots of plants for you and come and put them in too!

    Lovely to see you Bushman!

Everyone that went to Chelsea, very envious, hope you had a glorious time!

    Fantastic to hear DDs news!

Hosta, I remember my teenage brother, very handsome, lots if lady friends, told my dad that it only cost ten pence and hour to run a tumble dryer, when dad investigated the huge bill, he quickly sold the tumble dryer while my brother was out, rubbing his hands with mischief at the thought of my brothers face...brother came home to get ready for another date, went past the empty space where the tumble lived, got his jeans from the washer, walked back to the gap and said...#&@#&! As my dad chuckled

Been a very hot and sunburnt week at work! Suncream was worn but was just out there to long for it to be totally effective!

Still loving the job, the work,  the wildlife and location, and have finally been paid so going to buy myself some trainees without hikes and compost and plant supports and things I've not been wanting to put on the credit card.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Wonky, bet you won't have to pay for blonde highlights this summer image

So pleased you are enjoying the job Wonky - sounds perfect.  Hope the hand tingling has eased.  Curious about trainees without hikes image  Where do you find those image

And big hi to Bushman and DD too.

Opticians this morning and smart meter fitting this afternoon.  They've tried before, but our signal was not strong enough.  Hoping that now our local telephone mast has been upgraded it will be ok.  Can't go round extolling their virtues without having one myself.

Did you hear solar power broke a record in this country yesterday lunchtime imageimageimage?

I saw that Chicky, fantastic news.

When are we going to have more tidal wave power ?

Our favourite SM has installed 3 "daisy" solar panels dooberries in the car park.  The panels open up from the centre like daisy petals and the whole thing turns to track the sun.  Folds up to reduce wind resistance in bad weather.  Brilliant.  I just don't understand wind turbines in a place like this as it's sunny, even in winter.  Even in Belgium we generated loads with our roof panels.

Wonky - invest in some factor 50 and train mates of OH to apply it to the parts you can't reach.  We even have some for Cosmos' ears as white cats round here can get skin cancer.

Obelixx, we used to have to do the same for our last cat Sorrow, she was pure white with three legs and didn't mind suncream applications image

Chicky, that was supposed to be trainers without holes! Lol! Looking forward to seeing Chelsea pictures!

Ob; you'd think he would be too tired to notice a speck of dust (or even too excited at seeing the dog again... oh and me) but unfortunately when he gets tired (and I imagine tomorrow will be a full day of grumping around the house) he gets a proper grump on and comments on everything.

Giving him a mop however just causes more trouble.

Wonky; take wet wipes with you so that you can clean yourself off and reapply sun cream throughout the day. Bonus if you pop them in the freezer for an hour before you leave for work they'll keep you nice and cool! I always do this when I go out for the day; even make them a little extra moist before freezing sometimes. They keep my drinks bottle cool and feel so nice on hit sweaty bits!

The rain has arrived .... and promptly disappeared again. Can't decide whether to risk the laundry outside or nip to Doves!

    Hmm... Dove does have cake...
