Yum Dove. Haven't had any asparagus this year. Saw some proper green stuff just once in April and far too expensive. Decided to wait till the price came down but there was no more. Just the white stuff I don't like.
Have spent ages moving pots round to teh shadier north side of the ruin and then starting the planting of the new bed. Just stopped and am filthy so a quick shower and then some dinner.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I've enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Aldeburgh where the sea breeze meant it was pleasantly warm but not stifling as it would be at home. Bit of a bike ride, swift half of Adnams and fish and chips and a nice big crab for tomorrow - what's not to like?
We were supposed to be staying for the whole weekend but I really can't leave my poorly pussy cat for more than a few hours now - so I've come home and left OH over there in the camper van doing sunset and sunrise photos and planning a long bike ride for tomorrow. He'll come home Sunday morning.
Dove - sweetie - you really do need to take more water with it you know. I warned you that Norfolk Gin was good stuff!
Any idea how long you will be out of action? Sounds painful and frustrating in equal measure. Look after yourself
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Asparagus is grown in the Dordogne, so we've had quite a bit There are quite a lot of English people who prefer green asparagus here so I think that could be why it's available, but when we moved here in '85 there was only the white sort.
Dove, I've seen the before photo, what happened to the after photo? But, joking aside, I hope you manage to sleep and the docs have given you a good pain relief.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Dove when you're mended can you send him over here? It was beans and toast tonight! I just can never be bothered to cook something interesting when I'm on my own.
His lordship will be checking in around now but won't reach Yorkshire until 17:00 tomorrow. I don't envy that journey! Hopefully I will be woken up bright and early to make sure the house looks lovely. It at least looks tidy.

Just catching up
Look after yourself Dove - hope you're not too uncomfortable waiting for everything to heal. And speedy recovery to LilyP too.
Yvie - I was delighted to see Chris B win Peoples Choice too
Hope you get out to a hill tomorrow Fairy
Good antidote to a tough week
Too late chicky - been out after work today - sorry, yesterday. It's to be thunder, lightning and rain today, so I think I'll give it a miss...
Didn't get home till half ten, and now I can't sleep
Had the hill to myself - roasting hot, and got some lovely photos- including these on the summit.....
2, 600 feet above sea level. I never fail to be amazed
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
