Afternoon all. We have been busy with an SM and DIY raid this morning and I still need to go and buy oads of compost for my new babies and some older treasures and some yet to be sown. My RHS seed order arrived on Saturday. I have set up a spreadsheet of what I have and how big ot grows and what colour - sad I know - in a bid to help me organise myself.
We've had to buy another scratching post assembly for the kittens - no longer used to downstairs cats using the sofas t sharpen claws so now we have upstairs and downstairs entertainment for them. I've also bought sea trout fillets for dinner tonight but don't tell Possum. She only eats salmon and prawns and clams.
Well done DD. I hope the sense of achievement gives yu an enormous boost for Wednesday.
Still to decide on apple varieties for this garden and also need to identify what the existing fruit trees are.........
Enjoy the day everyone, whatever you're doing.

Yes Dovefromabove that's the kitty, my absolute faveroute apple so I got that one first. About 1.5m high, young but plenty of healthy buds and good roots. Had to wait a whileg but I'm glad I didn't cave and get a more bog standard one from Dobbies.
Hosta - Have you tried clipping your hoppers closed? Or using one of those bungee thingies? Ours is a Lazer with no hoppers.
I now have 140litres of seed and cuttings compost and 120 of potting compost for my treasures. Whilst there some other goodies leaped into my trolley - 6 bearded iris, a white Japanese anemone, a yellow courgette, a butternut squash, cucumber, red pepper and another pot of rhubarb. Now to go and get mucky playing with new and not so new treasures and maybe even do some sowing.

Was in the office all morning and now trying to steel myself to put the SM shop away - feeling very tired for some reason. Maybe an early night tonight.
HUGE Congratulations DD Well done! Still think you're totally bonkers to want to run for a bus let alone a marathon - but massive respect for your achievement. Hopefully 'other stuff' will start to fall in to place for you very soon.
LC - We have an Egremont Russet - a very nice apple indeed - good choice.
Hope you get the mower sorted out Hosta. That sort of thing is a right royal PITA.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

My apple tree is here! I've gone for a self seeding russet from T&M. ?
Oooh, is that an Egremont Russet Learnincurve? One of our favourite apples ... delicious with a chunk of mature cheddar or a strong Red Leicester.

Popped in for a bit of lunch before I drive my poxy John Deere into the lake. It's " doin' me head in"
Poxy thing it is. I wish I'd gone with my guts and bought a Honda. Every bump and the grass hopper springs open dumping all the grass out.
Sorry DD, forgetting my manners. HUGE congratulations to you . xx

Well done indeed DD.
Also welcome learnincurve.
I saw my first swallow today. I know 'one doesn't make a Summer' but I think Winter is over when they arrive. It doesn't take much to make me happy.
Sorry but Cornwall is the best county. Only been here 40 years so will never be Cornish but they tolerate me
