Looking round the garden, I'm pleased to say there's not a lot of real damage from the last few days' weather. The magnolia flowers have turned to brown mush, the new shoots on Pieris 'Katsura' won't come to anything, and a lot of flowers have seen better days... but it could be worse...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Thanks for the support and kind wishes guys. My own GP is on holiday this week, so maybe whoever I see in the morning might well fly off at a tangent which might lead to a diagnosis.
Your symptoms sound both painful and maybe a little frightening too. Hopefully this round of tests etc will be able to nail the cause of the problem. Hope your appointment tomorrow goes well. As you say, a new ear, maybe new ideas.
Best wishes.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Sounds very unpleasant Hosta. Have a think if there is anything that is associated with it (food, bowels, etc.)? Hope you don't have it again anyway - oh and don't expect any more post for a while!!
Hope everyone else ok? Planning a quiet night - Supervet then bubble bath I think.
Just back from dance class and enjoying a glass of wine with some cheese and biscuits. 40 mins if jive and then cha-cha so very aerobic and knackering and then she went on to Bolero, a dance OH and I have never heard of, let alone learned.
Watching Masterchef now. We had one whole mm of rain while we were out. This is not going to lubricate my new beds.
Hosta - sounds very unpleasant. Have they checked for gallstones as well as kidney stones? Hope you get it sorted soon.
Liri - maybe your pieris will make new shoots. Shame about your magnolia.
Pat - I liked Canberra for shopping when I was there in 2000. Lots of options from markets to malls.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Evening everyone . Hope it's ok to join in the chat.
I've been on here for a few years now, but not had much chance to get online recently as I'm too busy being a mummy to my 19 month old :-D.
Me and my little lad have just moved into our own home. I've got a decent sized garden but I am stripping it completely bare and starting over. The front patch of grass has already been killed off and levelled, ready for me to put grass seed down.
The back garden has had weed killer all over it and I've got to say I am going to lay turf instead of grass seed on the back, so my little lad has got a bit more of a place to play!
I can't wait to start doing my borders, raised beds etc.
I've got about 30 plants in pots currently, which I have brought from my parent's house (plants I kept there) and can't wait to get them established in my garden .
I'm 25 and a lot of people find it strange I'm so interested in gardening, but I have had a passion for it since I was around 10 years old!
Will anyone be visiting Gardeners' World Live this year?
