I wondered why we were getting PPBs on the Beeb.  I gather form the lunch time news that the local elections are mostly rural areas and Wales and Scotland this time round.

Just seen Diane Abbott being her usual lovely self.  If she were a relative of Pinochio her nose would need scaffolding.

Oh joy.  More electioneering lies.  image  Does anyone believe politicians any more?  I shall be voting tactically, as usual, trying to remove the incumbent MP.  Won't say what party they're members of, cos we could do without this thread descending into arguments (discussions on most matters are fine, but we seem liable to get a bit hot under the collar when taking sides on politics...)  So - careful please, Topbird & Obelixx.

Sorry Liri.  Have to say I don't do party politics any more.   I go for personalities and ideas which still , unfortunately, doesn't leave much about which to feel hopeful.

Cosmos first, then garden.  All this changing of schedules for political announcements has put my daily clock out.

    Hi all.

Well that announcement could not have come at a worse time. I am a member of the party I support, so I will be out canvassing, when I would much rather be gardening. What makes it worse, is that we don't have a snow balls chance in hell of winning the seat.

I still take the view, although it is getting harder to believe, that we get the politicians we deserve, so if I don't do something, then I cannot moan.

My life is also being made more complicated by the global crisis, in that I am one of the few civilian medics who are trained in the management of chemical weapons injuries and it looks as though at the very least, I shall be asked to do some training in the near future. I suppose the alternative might be far worse.

Well at least it is a lovely day here and I am getting a lot done.

I've just had a mail from the RHS - 50 days to go to the new Chatsworth flower show.  Much better concentrate on that and hop the Beeb covers it if we can't get there.

That's ok, Obelixx - just don't want everything kicking off again...  and there's no reason why we shouldn't start political discussions for those who want, on another thread.  (Though I won't be joining in!  image)

Hooray!  Rocket and salad leaves have germinated, so we'll have something to eat at least, this summer.  I think my sugar peas have rotted though - or maybe been discovered by a mouse.  I'll have to dig around and see if they're there, and I'm just being impatient.  Not seen my friend the scruffy robin for a few days; hope he's ok...

I am fed up voting? Here we go again.

Busylizzie family arrive for 8  days!!!!! All being well with the baby's Russian visa they will return home after a much needed family holiday in May. By August they should be in the uk permanently!!!!!! When we moved here I brought all the kids things. I gave the family 2years to come and take back what they wanted , after 8 I paseed on masses  a year later the first grandchild arrived . typical!

Re tools and machinery, I am very tall and have back problems  Few things work for me

yesterday, whilst clearing g a compost bin, we found the head of an old fork inherited from my mother in law and named a "lady's fork"  I was devastated when I lost it, new handle and it will be as good as new?
