Just had steak and a lovely bottle of Chianti for dinner [ Every time I say Chianti, I always think of that line in the movie ]

Now settling down to watch Line of Duty, having recorded Homeland. We are serious party animals in this house ! image

Watching Jeremy Paxman on The Thames here and recording Vera and Line of Duty to watch later as OH is stuck in the kitchen watching golf.

Being brought up as a northern lass I know the northern counties well and, whilst Derbyshire is OK, it lacks water.  I much prefer the Lakes and the Northumbrian coast and the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales and some of its coast.   I do like a Bakewell tart tho and the Blue John mines.

Learnincurve, I can't claim to live in a county, but do live in a district called "The Monaro" (pronounced mon-air-row) in southeastern NSW. We are currently experiencing autumn weather which is similar to your spring, although yesterday was very cold because of a snowfall in the alpine areas nearby. Welcome to this lovely site.

Just been watching the weather report on TV. Thredbo received 20cm snow last night, and of course, the wind is coming to us from THAT direction. No wonder it's so cold, I wonder how many people are planning a camping weekend over Easter. I wouldn't fancy being in a damp tent in that freezing wind.

Joyce, I just saw that there is a cyclone developing north of Darwin on the Tiwi Islands. I hope your friend is ok.

    Morning All!

Back to work today; My bruised knees are starting to recover after Wednesday's ice skating trip but the bruising on my arm is coming up nicely (from manhandling the dog at the vets). Good job I can keep everything covered else I'd look like a woman who came first in a fight.

HOPEFULLY we will have electricity after today in the house. I've rather gotten used to not relying on lights to navigate and can make a cracking meal with only my head torch to guide me.

    Right; to work!
