It's so weird that we are experiencing similar weather at the moment. At least my veggies are near the end of their life so I don't need to worry about young seedlings like you all do.
Hubby sounds lovely Hosta. Mine is too since he let me sleep all morning to make up for a sleepless night - purred at from about 3:30 for hours and hours. How does he do it? Can't kick him out as he just howls which keeps us both awake. Not going to let him sleep today away. He can jolly well play and get tired!
Cold here too but not freezing and the sun is back wit that breeze. Brunch and then rose garden today once I've worked out how much space to leave free for a table and chairs.
If we ever need a tyre fixing we call a man that can. It's many years since I've had the strength to undo the nuts and bolts tightened by machinery in garages. We have a pil of 8 winter tyres in the ruin. Will have to think of something creative to do with them.

Afternoon - cold and grey today. Had a bit of rain overnight (hooray - but lots more needed please) and just had Dove's hailstorm which is making it's way N-S. Will not be going outside today at all
Just had a delivery of 6 plants from Dorset Perennials (3 Aconitum 'Royal Flush' and 3 Geum "Totally Tangerine") The latter should be a nice pop of colour nestled amongst deep purple salvias. Good plants, well packaged and excellent communication regarding delivery etc etc - will use them again
Hope Wonky has another good day - cosied up in a greenhouse sounds like a good option.
The last couple of cars we bought we were offered the option of a foam repair kit or a spare tyre (extra cost). We plumped for the spare tyre both times - apart from anything else I would think it's illegal to tow a caravan using a tyre pumped full of gunk. They're big, heavy tyres though - OH can't lift the spare out on his own without doing himself a mischief. Would definitely be a Green Flag job if I got a puncture.
Bit of housework, then time to light the fire - it's that sort of a day
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello all, just a quick pop in again. I've been working really hard to rewrite my spreadsheets to take to two banks on Friday. Also been collecting all sorts of detailed information about demographics of the area, not easy when France guards personal information so carefully, even the censuses don't ask about race (l'm trying to prove there are plenty of English here). These are the details the other bank doubted so hopefully the next ones will trust me. I've worked out I only need 4 people per hour to have a tea or coffee to make a comfortable profit. It'd not a lot to ask is it?
Anyway, all prepared (again) just need to get it all printed off again now.
Hopefully I'll be more sociable soon.
Best wishes to you all. ???

Well, she said she was wearing a baseball cap to keep the hail out of her eyes Son said there was a really bad hailstorm at Leiston, all the car and burglar alarms in the town centre were going off and causing mayhem - he said some of the hailstones were half an inch across
DD - we're all rooting for you ((hugs))

DD - Take along a copy of Living magazine to show them there are enough Brits in the area to fund a magazine financed purely by ads and given away free. http://www.livingmagazine.fr/ in case you haven't got one so you can show them online. French people also like tea and cakes and so do the Dutch who make up great numbers of visitors to that area. Good luck.
Hailstones can be painful and also damaging to plants. Not good.
OH is out there rotavating my new beds again. We fetched Cosmos out to play but he just flopped in the sun. That boy needs a rocket up his behind!
I am working on a list of my roses so I can note size and spread for my new planting plan.

Hosta, give him a hug from me. What a good bloke.

Morning all, but it's no longer morning here!
Cold and grey here. 2° this morning, 5° now. GH is shut with heater and heated mat on. Lids on cold frames. But forecast is for hot next week.
Have finished my tax forms, sigh of relief.
I need a man that can for tyres too. But haven't needed one in an emergency for years.
HW today. Have dusted the bedroom and OH has hoovered. I need to clean the spare room and make the bed for the house sitter.

Just heard from Wonky ... she's been weeding again, but is happy ... the surroundings sound idyllic.

Hope Wonky's got her hard hat on - that was quite a vicious hailstorm!

Thank you for keeping us informed DD. Good luck with the next two banks. Hugs x
