Wonky; I hadn't thought of looking on gum tree for jobs. I'll give it a look see! I've applied for a job part time with the fire service; I'm just hoping I get an interview! (They take place on 25th April so easy enough to know if I have gotten through the first stage or not).
It keeps threatening to rain (desperately needed). I have tripped nipping to the shops without a coat, cutting the lawn, and eating lunch out doors but it just refuses to let go of that much needed water!
We just returned from a lovely 24 hour break. OH surprised me with an overnighter and we visited Threave ( Joyce you are sooo right, we will be back) then went this morning to Logan Gardens a super botanical garden featuring many Australian and other Southern Hemisphere plants. Highly recommend it.
Needless to say some trilliums fell my way, helibores and geraniums. It would have been rude to leave them
When driving home I was thrilled to see so many naturalised primroses by the roadside the pollution from traffic can't be as dangerous as I thought.
its raining here too now but I have to say we need it.
have a lovely Happy Easter everyone ???

Afternoon all, absolutely shattered, starting digging the pond today, got on quite well. Will start a new thread with some piccies when I get the energy. It's been cloudy and dull all day and we've had a couple of very light showers. Not got any choccies for Easter. I think I ate enough on holiday so I need to be good now. Don't think weightwatchers tomorrow is going to be much fun.
LP - so glad you liked Threave. Logan is another favourite. Castle Kennedy, just outside Stranraer is also well worth a visit, Large pond area, ruined castle and huge walled garden.
Afternoon - brrrrr - log burner will be lit very soon!
Bit of a lazy day - SM, GC and a bit of plant splitting / potting on - then watering all the little treasures (mainly my own propagations I'm proud to say!) which are waiting to go in the new border. They may be even be planted by this time next week.
Wonky - we have a kitchen tap hose adaptor thingy - we use it to fill the campervan with softened water and (so far) it has only given OH an unexpected shower once! It fits onto a curved mixer tap. I'll see if I can find the details for you.
Re creme eggs. They are a guilty vice. I know they're cheap chocolate so basically loads of fat and sugar and zero nutritional value - but (like walnut whips) there is something really naughty about eating them with that gooey soft centre waiting to be scooped out by my little finger. Eating one is definitely best done in private.
Find a full size one a bit sickly. But 2 or 3 mini ones - perfect
Off now to make hot cross bun bread and butter pudding and the batter for toad in t'hole. Then cup of tea with last night's Beechgrove
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
There are 2 different diameters available. We have both in case we come across different sized taps when away - but we use the smaller one for connecting at home.
Hope that helps

Happy Easter to every one, this is the first time in years that cadbury easter eggs appeared in the local sm, i still have 3 sitting in the fridge door. We have had 1mm of rain today and the temp dropped to 15c,so i am feeling the cold. autumn has arrived with a bang.
TB - I used to love walnut whips but, after years of proper Belgian chocolate made with cocoa butter the WW just tasted greasy. Can't do Cadbury's choc any more either.
The sticky chocolate orange hot cross buns (nod to Possum who thinks she hates dried fruit ) are delish. A keeper. BBC Good Food recipe.
I have planted the last of the hostas in the hosta bed along with some geranium macrorhizum, a white vinca minor and a white Japanese anemone and some hemerocallis. The snowdrops have gone in too. Just need to sort out some daffs now but too shattered and it's getting late here.
We've had to put a fence round it to stop the dogs barging up and down and barking at the neighbour's dog. They've broken off bits of hydrangea and flattened some of the smaller hostas. Mongrels!
Clari - Fingers crossed for you.

Friggin' freezin' here. Normal service resumed for April
I've potted on some little bits and bobs (indoors) but I've got the heating on now.
We've had enough rain this week Clari - you're welcome to it now
Good luck with getting an interview.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Evening all. Guests snoozing, Hubby dozed off on sofa, so I've just been and watered stuff. I hope they're not planning on being up late.
I refuse to by cadbury since they were bought by Kraft and moved much of the production out of UK.
Creme eggs were too sickly sweet for me anyway. I've found I love really dark chocolate now and, as I can't eat a lot of it, it's self limiting.
