Lizzie, Joyce, my typing also takes ages toappear, and the screen jumps round too. Had a go at trying to get it resolved (see the iPad freezing thread) but the developers can't replicate the problem, so we seem no nearer a solution. Maybe it is down to some of the adverts (that was the latest suggestion)
Gorgeous Chicky I can see a similar one while sitting here in bed with my coffee ... It seems unusual for the magnolias to escape damage from wet, wind or frost ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We've been here 10 years now, and in 2 of those the annual display has been spoiled .....so not bad odds really. I do spend my time fretting over the forecast though
My magnolia is just starting to open. We have had a frost overnight. Yesterday hubby had a delivery of tools and benches for the manshed, so he put all the overwintering cacti outside. I went to see what he was doing. Its a good job I made him put them all back inside last night. Just because we had a couple of sunny days does not mean it's summer.
It looks like its going to be another sunny day, but I seem to have acquired the rotten cold that he has had for the last week or so. As I am going to be in a pharmacy all day, I suspect I can find something to sort it. The boss has gone to Mexico for a week.
Thank you for the birthday wishes ladies! much appreciated! Having a shindig at the weekend with a few friends but after a meeting this morning its greenhouse base adjusting then ready for assembly asap!!! Hope everyone has a good day

Morning peeps
Just been for a dawn wander round the garden.....our magnolia is positively glowing in the early light
Love it when we escape the frosts at this time of year
