Afternoon Pat. They can be quite hard work those machines, at least mine was on the stairs, so take it easy. image

I'm up early and itching to get on with some gardening but it's still dark outside so sorting seeds instead. Son gave me a lovely seed organiser for Christmas and I have deliberatly not started as we have another cold snap ahead. I always sow far too many seeds too early and as I don't have a greenhouse the conservatory ends up looking like the spare parts room of a Garden Centre... and the cat has a field day. image

Had to get the hose out yesterday; it's not hot but dry and windy. Enjoy your evening Pat, and good morning to all risers.

    Morning all/afties Pat  image

Frost here and looks lovely and sparkly. So much nicer than rain and wind and cold dank soil. Off to Callander for a walk while I get the chance.

Quick look round here before I leave - have a good day everyone. Enjoy your time in the garden today if you can image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Hi ladies. I've proudly been out doing some long overdue garden tidying.  The trailer is getting a bit full. You never know, Hubby might take it to the tip tomorrow.

The instructions for that Carpet shampoo machine is so complicated that I've put it to one side for today. I might have another read tomorrow.image

The temp today was quite good, probably about 20 I guess, but still has clouds between bright sunlight.

HRH's grave is under the concrete slab near the whistling boy bird bath. It should look better when the violets get a move on.

still no rain today, but tonight might be a bit noisy.image

Good morning all.  Bright and sunny again with that chilly easterly breeze still blowing and no rain.  Humidity is down to 40% already so much watering of pots for the foreseeable but, on the up side, the newly ploughed and riddled future potager is not busy growing weeds - yet -and the blossom isn't being blown or washed off the trees which are glorious this spring.

Loved the no-dig on GW but can't see us ever producing enough compost ourselves so we'll have to explore other sources.  I do have access to horse-poo but no idea how much.

Possum has just left with OH who is driving her to Angers to catch a direct train to Brussels so just one change to get to Namur.   Just as well as she has so much luggage - no concept of travelling light!

I should start on some h****work while it warms up enough to potter outside.

Busy - your pool sounds complicated.   Enjoy your walk FG.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all.

Wonderful night at the operas. Fabulous singing throughout. I didn't love the stage sets, but touring opera must be so difficult for set designers. Home by 11 even though Sally the Sat Nav wanted to take us all over the bleedin' place from start to finish.

We watched The Last Leg when we got in . They showed about 6 video clips of TM categorically saying " there will be no general election before 2020" hey ho.

Swapped pillow last night and all was well at 5am when I " visited the smallest room" but sore again now.

    H. Guacamole is a lovely plant when it's in full leaf. It has the most odd habit of forming caps over developing shoots ,often causing the foliage to get " stuck" underneath. I often give it a helping hand. I can't think of another variety which does this.

Another dry day here do we'll be cracking on with plant moving. The ground is perfect for working now. Any wetter and it would be like glue, any drier and it's like concrete.

Have a great weekend one and all.

Joyce - don't know.  A lot in the hedgerows is hawthorn but I have no idea yet what the trees i teh garden are until I see leaves.   They were all pretty bare already when we arrived in October as a drought made them drop their leaves early.   So far they all have white flowers so I'm hoping for some plums and maybe pears.

Hosta - glad you enjoyed the opera but rather you than me.  I find high sopranos painful to the ear.   Don't know Guacamole but all my hostas are looking very happy in their new home - labels lost on most but a nice selection of blues and greens and golds and variegation.  Wonderful plants.

Glad you enjoyed Boheme Hosta ... and that you're suffering less.  image

Morning the rest of you ...... I've been out watering containers and filling up bird feeders ... and sadly I found a dead waxwing on the terrace ... couldn't find any sign that it had hit the studio window, but it might have done ... I'd have thought it should have been well on its way back to Scandinavia now ... perhaps it wasn't well image

Beautiful bird Dove - sad little picture.

Glad you enjoyed the opera Hosta and thanks for the tip about Guacamole - I was planning to put it in the centre of a bed but might see if there's a spot a bit nearer to the edge in case I need to give it a helping hand.

    Enjoy your walk Fairyimage
