well, methinks you'll have to be the judge then. image

Are you looking to have them in the pots long term, or just until they grow a bit more?

Don't over pot them, (as usual), and when you see the roots at the bottom, maybe think about moving them on?

Had a nice trip out with my friend yesterday and got her pots sorted.  they had to be shade loving and come back every year!

Hosta - at present they are in the bottom third of a plastic  bottle. (Daughter  well into recycling)I will put them into temporary pots until I can judge possible eventual size.

The party Saturday night finished at 7.30am Sunday morning... I didn't really see Sunday, I hear it was the hottest day of the year? Didn't think it wise to continue with greenhouse assembly, intact the instructions insisted that I shouldn't be under the influence anything so.....

Two bottles of champagne for birthday, one gigantic! image and a bottle of brandy, a homemade cheesecake turned up too which is going down very nicely!

My friend also got me a lovely handmade wooden trug with lots of goodies, I'll take a picture later to show you image work again today

Will catch up properly later, have a lovely day all!

    Morning all.

Is bee keeping in England as full of rules, regulations and papers to fill in as it is in France? I'm just letting my wild bees under the wheelbarrow in the wood get on with it in peace. I wonder if they will eat the 4 honeycombs?

Today I will be putting back the permeable weed suppressant fabric in the veg garden and planting broad beans and onion sets.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    BL,  I hope not.image

They're not my bees, I just giving them a home. We only use honey to glaze parsnips so won't be too tempted by the honey either.  Just doing my bit , although I do love to see them flit about.

Morning all. It's been a while since I've been in to Forkers. I've had a skim read back but I can't remember everything... well done DD on the marathon - amazing! And good luck for your important meeting. Congratulations Clari on progress in the house. Wrap up warm Pat. And how lovely to have bees, Hosta. Apologies to everyone else, I'll catch up properly in a bit.

Well I finished work on 31 March, but carried on tying up loose ends for about a week before handing back my work phone, laptop etc. School Easter hols also started that day, so last week was very busy and quite stressful. It's been better since I 'let go' but still so busy (all good stuff, lots of music concerts and social things) that I don't think I'll really grasp reality (or get any gardening done!) until the kids are back at school. For those who were asking, no, I haven't retired. I decided to resign due to a current restructuring being the last straw in a long decline. This is, I suppose, a 'career break' as I'm almost 20 years off being able to get my pension but have decided to take some time out to rethink what I want to do. I'd been in the job, and totally immersed, for 18 years (22 in the profession). Anyway, at the moment it feels like a huge relief and I feel fine :-).

Right, at some point soon I need to start posts about squirrel damage, digging up peonies, thinning plum tree branches and sundry other questions. Until then, enjoy your Tuesday!
