The forsythia in photo 5 was leaning right over towards they fence last year, hence the sparce foliage on the ivy. The branches were breaking under their own weight so they had to go. You should be able to make out the cut branches to the left, half way up.
They were all hiding underground Hosta ... lots of gaudy primulas ......... but I only bought compost (JI2, MPC and JI seed) and some Fish Blood and Bone ............ and picked up my weekly loaf of sourdough from the farm shop

Hi Lyn and everyone else. I've had a very productive day today, between chatting to Edd who seemed to be up and about late. He might have been working on a night shift, I didn't ask him. I can't believe how many used pots I'd just chucked into a corner until the weather became more bearable. Feels very satisfying to get them cleaned up and put away. I even ripped out some weeds as well. I've decided that tomorrow, weather permitting, I'm going to clean up around the Autumn Crocuses so that when they do their magic, I'll be able to get full enjoyment of their leafless flowers.
Mind you, Hubby says he can hear thunder. I wouldn't know since only one ear works and I don't hear half of what he does. just as well he can.
busy now 11.15pm watching a Joe Cocker concert. Funny how his raspy voice gets to me. He's singing quite a few Beatles songs. I think they are mostly McCartney ones. ?
Hosta ... I was wrong ... my hostas are stirring and beginning to peek through into the sunlight - I've just repotted all the ones in pots and have banned slugs and snails from going anywhere near them
My canna has been repotted too - it seems to have survived the winter having been shrouded in bubble wrap in the mini greenhouse up against the house wall.
All the little clematis grown from seed last year have been potted on too - they passed the winter in a sheltered spot up against the fence.
Now I shall have a mug of coffee and get back out there ... seeds need sowing ...

That's the only variety that far ahead. Most of the others are still fast asleep.
