Hello all.Feeling shattered, had to work this weekend. Split shift Saturday, didn't finish til nearly midnight and then Mothers day from 11.30 to 6.15 doing washing up for 145 people in 2 sittings. Only got a 10 min break. I sat on a barrel of Butcombe in the cellar with a orange juice and lemonade.
I missed out on all the lovely gardening weather and Mothers day.
After Saturday's very long sleep and the doggy disaster I went to bed well after midnight last night and have been awake since 6 with purry cuddles. Dogs on form when I came down to let them out and aftera short burst of hyper activity they are all now dozing on a sofa.
Sunny all day today so I shall try and rescue some more daffs from the potager and weed round some hyacinths I need to rescue from the gravel mess.
Good luck with the mowing Hosta. I've been doing ours on the highest setting too and it's hard work. Not even going to attempt to mow the paddock or the back area between the potager and side fence. They can stay wild in the expectation of being munched by horses when I get the neighbours sorted out.
Cosmos is funny with Bonzo. He walks casually past, ignoring him, but then gives a tantalising flick of his bum and tail and then sits, just out of range, looking at him with big eyes. The second Bonzo falls for it Cosmos is off, ducking and weaving till caught and given a serious licking and then he rolls over to get his tum nuzzled and then he's off again with Bonzo making funny throaty noises. They usually end up snuggled nose to nose on a sofa or a rug.
With Rasta he just marches up and goes nose to nose and then gets his licks and nuzzles.

Glorious day again here. Scotland has nicked all the best weather for the last few days. I think we deserve it now and again, especially since it was snowing less than a week ago .
I haven't read what you've been up to yet as I didn't get home till after 9pm. A rather long day, not helped by having to spend half an hour getting my car unstuck from the grass verge where I parked. I was knackered before I set off! These b***ers just sat and watched..
.
I was getting ready to lasso one and hitch it to the front
All adds to the fun. Three and a half hours to get home - huge traffic jam. Girls had made dinner for me and got lovely presents too. I felt really bad that it was so late, and too late for me to eat, but I wasn't going to let them down.
Frit - what it is you do? I love not having to work weekends , having done it for a large part of my earlier life. Infuriating when everyone's saying 'hurray it's the weekend'. I'm guilty of that too
I assume Hosta has had a poor night's sleep, and I can see chicky has a good weekend, but I shall read back and see what's what while I'm enjoying a cuppa.
No work this week, but I'll go and take youngest soon. Have a great day everyone, whatever you're doing.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Chicky - did you get photos and plants or just lectures? Sounds like a good day too.
Frit - we can both have a belated M day next Sunday tho I confess to going out and buying myself a few treats on Saturday to make up for being abandoned.

Good morning, as Fairy says we have another beautiful morning, it is so unlike us!
hello to Obelixx, Hosta, Chicky, Dove, Joyce Fairy and those yet to come or I have missed iut
glad everyone had a nice Mother's Day, i haven't had my family around for years but for some reason I felt terribly down yesterday. It was a worrying afternoon with the Russian demo. First born was out in the middle of it and couldn't get home easily.
Long border cleared and compost put down as a mulch, today will be less backbreaking as pruning in the agenda!
Pat sounds like some wild weather could be in the cards
hello Frit!
joyce good gift, how long to make compost?

Hi Dove, you're right. Tonight might be a problem. Hmmm, it might need some planning. Let's see what the temp is at midnight.

That's awful Fritillary. Why not pretend that next Sunday is Mother's Day and treat yourself.
