Morning all. Just come in to collect the washing, before I get too muddy to hang it up. What a smashing day! Nice for OH too, who is being "Mr Perks" at Oakworth station, as a volunteer crossing keeper on our local steam railway. (Anyone remember the original film of "The Railway Children"? The one with Jenny Agutter, Bernard Cribbins and others? It was filmed on that railway and still brings in loads of visitors wanting to run down the platform exclaiming "Daddy... my Daddy..."!)
Topbird, Orkney is on my list too. Amazing archaeology. One of my lecturers at hort. college was from Orkney; I think he was born waterproof. Never wore a coat... I think I might, though, if we get round to visiting.
Hi Pat. Hope that cyclone doesn't wreak too much havoc - but that you get some more rain as a spin-off.
Hope you're all getting a share of this lovely weather. Hard luck, Hosta...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I have had Orkney and other Scottish isles on my wish list for some years but, now I'm 27, I think they may just be a bit too cool and too far for us but have also discovered that there's a lot of prehistoric stuff here in the Vendée to explore. They're also very keen on Richard Lionheart for some reason. I always thought he was a plonker.
Joyce - how lovely of your daughter to trek up. Hope you have a lovely day.
OH is in Namur doing Possum's ironing while she cleans her flat. They're off to teh cinema later so I may get a Skype before their dinner!
Bonzo and Cosmos are flirting with each other and making strange squeaky sounds as they snuggle on the sofa. Rasta is on the other sofa and keeping a watchful eye on "her" kitten and giving occasional warning growls. Minstrel is sunbathing.
I have been looking at clematis porn on the net. Now need some lunch but have no idea what.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Just back from the GC with a car boot full of big bags of 'soil conditioner' and a small one of MPC, a ball of twine, some birthday cards ........................................................ and two pulmonaria Opal and EB Anderson
It's those dratted sticky labels again ...................
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Brrr! Chilly outside now - we're too close to the North Sea when the wind's in this direction ... but the forecast for Norfolk for Tuesday onwards is warming up nicely ... the mulching can wait until then ...........

What a difference a day makes. Had a lovely day at the coal face. Met the Bee Lady who is bringing "my" bees round. She was wearing an apiarist suit, so easy to spot her. ( we get all sorts in Waitrose )
We had a guy from Devon Wildlife Trust on site so had a few wee chats with him between trolley collection.
Having a nice cuppa and a bit of carrot cake, with Hubby, then off to start cutting grass.
