Well, it's been nice enough to play in the garden after all ............ I started tidying around the pond, and then realised I was disturbing a courting couple ....... looks like frog spawn is imminent ........ so I got the hoe out and disturbed some weeds instead. image

Now I'm indoors and a half shoulder of lamb has been rubbed with rosemary, anointed with olive oil and studded with garlic - now it's in the oven surrounded by potatoes and onions. Must find the mint jelly in our newly reorganised pantry and food cupboards  ...

    Afternoon everyone.

We're still eating up the redcurrant jelly rescued from Mum's pantry when we moved her - made by my dad in 1992.  Still tasty...  & makes lamb gravy delish... image

I'm trying to sort out paperwork relating to our cottage (which we've just passed on to our son - we're blowed if the taxman is getting his hands on it!).  It's warm enough for gardening but this has got to be done, drat it.

Yvie, I lost a pair of reading glasses while I was working at the garden centre.  I'm pretty sure someone bought a conifer with an unexpected bonus in its branches...

Hope you've made progress to your satisfaction with the painting, Obelixx.

Wonder if Fairy found something to climb today...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Afternoonimage

For somebody who wasn't going to garden today (back said NO in a very loud voice this morning) I seem to have done quite a bit.

8 trays of seeds sown, shed tidied (just a bit), new weather station transmitter put up and - trumpets sound - I've cut the grass.imageimageimageimage

Sorry Hosta - just couldn't stand looking at it any longer. Used highest setting - took about 5" off. Remainder is till about 4" long. Definitely needed doing!. Weren't as many mole hills as I thought and seem to have squashed quite a few mole tunnels back into place. They had a right party under there over the winter.

Need to prep Hot X Bun bread & butter pud now image - chicken & mushroom pasta for mains. Have a good evening folksimage

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Evening all.

Busy morning, but I only had 2 deliveries all afternoon so got to stop and have my lunch in a nice sunny lay-by. Great sea views all round Tintagel , Boscastle , Trebarwith areas.

Our tenants were waiting for me when I got home. They wanted to say goodbye and thank-you in person before leaving. If we can get anyone half as good as them, I'll be happy.

They bought me a Ceanothus for the garden as a little farewell pressy. Bless'em

Way too much chatting going on today to reply. Most of you seem to have had a good day. Which is nice.

It's been a lovely day Hosta image   glad you had a lovely day too. image

Our first 'proper holiday' together was at Tintagel ....... we found out later that it was where OH's parents spent their honeymoon.  image  I remember seeing my first peregrine falcon stoop down at high speed and take a pigeon which had been flapping around the cliffs where they stick out into the sea image

I have to agree with you about Delabole Dove.

I stopped there to have lunch between drops. It's not a place to set the heart fluttering is it?

Hello everybody , not read all , great day out at Arsensal yesterday, a very long day , an impressive stadium

Over 100 years since a none league team got that far in the FA cup and it took a Top Premiership team to beat Lincoln

    A bit worn out today

Hope alls well with everybody image

Glad you had a good day out GWRS, even if the result wasn't what we wished for.   I bet you feel absolutely shattered after having all that adrenaline rushing around in your bloodstream yesterday.

I suppose I ought to explain that it was probably around fifteen years ago that we went to that restaurant in Delabole .............................t may not exist any more, or it may have improved ............................... image
