Pat - glad you're getting some much needed rain. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I was glad to get back lower down in the glen yesterday where it was shade by the adjacent hill. Not even the end of March and it was too hot for me!
Sorry Hosta - no breeze to speak of, and it was probably mid teens at best
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
To be fair, that invoice was long overdue and not just for Germany. The former eastern block countries who have joined NATO as insurance against Russian invasion and interference are not contributing adequately to costs based on an agreed percentage of GNP. Why should the UK and US foot the bill?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Agreed Obelixx , but there's a difference between being a politician and being a show-off and a bully ... Or there should be ...
Its misty heading south and looks as if it was thicker overnight and maybe the wildlife were caught unawares by traffic being earlier today ... Several does and fawns dead on the road
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
No Mothers Day celebrations here; commercialised American nonsense, my Dad called it. Though we often had a Simnel cake, and OH and I still do, if I can find enough people to help us eat it...
What a lovely day yesterday. Loads got done in the garden and I feel SO much better as a result. Today has started a bit misty, but the sun is due to break through (twenty minutes ago, thank you Met Office).
Glad you found a suitable hill, Fairy. Looking forward to the photos...
Re melatonin, Hosta: SIL used it for jet lag, returning from USA, and found it helpful. But it's not without its drawbacks though - there's lots on the internet about it.
Right. Time to blow away the mist... see you later!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
When I joined the GW forum I was overjoyed as none of my family and friends loved gardening like I do. It was amazing to talk plants and gardening dreams and share my passion with those who had same passion. I am going to take a break now. I can not be doing with the upsets and will return when all is back to gardening. Thank you everyone for posting on my threads. I loved every minute of it. I will be posting same message on the other forum I have joined too. Have a lovely spring and see you in the summer xx
I'm now breakfasted and ready to face the world. Sore down the right hand side - must be from trying to push the car outof the verge
Difficult when you see young animals splatted Dove. I got ridiculously upset when I thought I'd run over a frog on the glen road. I swerved, and I think he was ok. That's all I'd have needed - swerve to avoid a frog, and end up in a ditch. Don't think I could have got the car out of that on my own!
Glad you had a productive day Liri. Might take a while to do the photos - I took over 100. Very little snow on that hill compared to all the others there. The sun was just getting far enough round to thaw most of it. I'd taken the hardware anyway - as you can't see it from the start. Didn't need that, or the extra fleece...or the jacket!
Best present I got yesterday was youngest washing my bedclothes...and then putting them back on the bed. Utter bliss after my long day

Mothering Sunday - to give it its correct name - is a centuries old tradition based on religion and honouring mothers and mother Church. It is held on the 4th Sunday in Lent.
Mothers' Day is a crass American invention instituted by Woodrow Wilson in 1914 and is indeed a commercial horror. The Belgians do it on May 10th which lines up with teh US date. The French do it 3 weeks later so, if I play my cards right, I can have 3 HRT opportunities!
Worktop and splash backs done but I'm not allowed to touch it for a day while the joins dry. Fine by me. I shall go and get mucky outside now that it's warming up.

Beaus Mum, we will be sorry to see you go. What upsets? I know there was one recently but thought things were OK now. Saw Hazel was leaving too. I don't have time to look at all the threads here. Mostly it's a very friendly forum.

I have missed all this unpleasantness, thankfully
I dont even know what the "other forum" is! But I will miss you Beaus mum. It's all about gardening and a little "light" chat for me ?
