Beau's Mum - we'll miss you! Come back soon! (I presume you're still planning to do Kew in July?)
I find this Forkers thread is a good one to follow if you want to avoid the upsets. I'm now very careful what else I look at on the forum.
Obelixx, you're absolutely right about Mothering Sunday - domestic servants used to be given a day off then, to go & visit their mothers. Our church gives little bunches of spring flowers to all the mums in the service on that day, including those whose children have died or been miscarried. Very touching.
I just came in for a cuppa... back to moss clearing, I think.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
It's like Bank Holiday Monday traffic today..........All us Scots making the most of the warm sunshine Will sit out with coffee and debate whether to do the planned weeding or just relax and enjoy the sun.
I've been out seed sowing Joyce. The traffic coming home yesterday is among the worst I've ever experienced. There's a lane closure on the Loch Lomond road - approaching the big roundabout at the start of the loch and onto the Dumbarton side - which seemed to cause the problem with a build up of traffic. It was before reaching Luss that I got caught in it. Annoyingly, the road up until then had been great! I'm going to make the most of the sunshine while it lasts.
Sorry to see you go BM. Hope you continue to enjoy your lovely new garden. Sadly, there are always some who cause a problem, and don't seem to understand basic etiquette when 'speaking' to others. Some seem to revel in stiriing, but you getthat on forums generall I expect. The trick is to see through it and carry on in a civilsed way. In this recent instance, there were also PMs circulating , and a hideous posting about a couple of respected members, which was deleted very quickly by the mods. Unfortunately, 'someone' chose to re post it. They've been banned now as far as I know.
I don't read all the threads either BL, as soem don't interest me, and I also like this one for general chit chat or to see how regular posters are. Sometimes I click on one by accident, but I don't post if I feel I'd be repeating myself. I'm sure I do enough of that already
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Have had to stop for a drink It's Mediterranean out there! Grasses all thinned, reckon if I chop it it will be good straw for my new strawberry venture!
So glad Joyce and Fairy, are enjoying it too. Lovely when they get it wrong "in our favour"!
I think very carefully about going the loch Lomond route at this time of year. Nearly always ends in tears ?

Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
It's lovely outside now. I've just been out in the lanes with the dogs and there's all sorts of spring blossom and wildflowers I don't recognise and the busy buzzing of insects. Lots of nest building going on too.
I need to go and commune with my pots and see if I can tell which one is Sum and Substance cos that's what I need to get planted first of the hostas.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I ain't been up to nuffink Dove. Just sunbathing....
Aye right...
Obelixx- it's lovely when you see those proper signs of spring isn't it? We're always a little hesitant up here when there's good weather at this time of year, as we know it can change so rapidly. We've had frost every day since the snow last Tuesday. No wind is what makes the difference. I spied a huge bee earlier and it made me smile. Birds are singing and I've got a t-shirt on. This is better than what we often have in summer!
I came in for a cuppa before I go and put some hooks up for my wall hanging baskets which have got my experiment in. I may take a pic later if I get them up properly. There might be some 'language' involved if I can't.
The LL road is quiet in winter and if you're early enough going, and late enough coming home in summer! It's getting to the 'season' too, so more tourists who drive at thirty five when it's perfectly possible to drive at sixty.... The price we pay for the glorious scenery
There was a pair of old dears yesterday who were testing the patience of others. Half a dozen of us got past, only to catch up with the traffic jam. Sod's Law!

Our church does the same, Liri, usually my job, but a friend did it this time as I was with my daughter.
Site keeps playing up, slow, can't type sometimes, then a security alert comes up, asking if I want to carry on.

LP - daughter said A70 was very busy on her way here yesterday.......she would have passed your place around 9am.
It would be lovely to have a spring like last year's up here.
Hello folks ... I'm back ... Suffolk looked lovely in the sunshine - blossom and hedgerows are ahead of ours here in Norfolk.
Right, kettle on ... let's see what you've been up to ..............
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
