Hello all. Glad everyone seems to be feeling better.

Obelixx that is an enormous veg 'patch'! All this planning must be very exciting.

Fairygirl, beautiful view. Stunning. My view today was less picturesque but still pretty damn inspiring:

It was very cold, sunny, and beautiful.

Hi everyone. Watching the final day of the cycle race.

had a nice surprise in the veggie patch this morning. There is a Blue Tongue Lizard enjoying a drink from a saucer I keep filled for birds amongst the Kale plants. There is also a little Jacky Lizard sunbaking on a rock.

Im afraid the Black Cockatoos were confused yesterday. No rain!

prediction is for rain on Tuesday, but fine and 33 today and tomorrow.

Morning all/afties Pat. Gorgeous little lizards  image

Is a Jacky a type of lizard, or is that the name for a female, Pat? Pardon my ignorance image

Glad you liked the view. It's a spectacular area - wedged between Glencoe and The Mamores/Nevis area. Apparently, there's more wild mountainous land in that area than all the mountainous areas of England and Wales put together. I'll do my pix for the Camera thread this morning while I'm lazing around. I  had a sleep on the sofa last night  image

Met a very interesting chap from Fort Bill up there too. We had a lovely chat, largely about the snow and lack of it etc. If you think British people in general are obsessed about weather, just try talking to hillwalkers image

LG - where was your pic taken? Just as well that man in the foreground was carefully positioned in front of the placard....image

Been chilly here overnight - I can see frost on the cars where there's a street light or two. I can also hear birds - they seem to be enjoying singing in the dark these days!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

LG, were you wearing a pink knitted hat?

Pat, lizards - yesimage  snakes -no.

Fairy, looking forward to yesterday's pics.  Have you done the Devil's Staircase or is that too much of a problem re transport at the other end?

    Morning Joyce  image

I've done it as part of the WHWay  many years ago. It skirts round the eastern end of the hill I was on yesterday. (Garbh Bheinn) In theory you could walk back by going over it but you'd need two cars as it takes you back to the foot of the Bookil at Altnafeadh. I think it would be too steep to drop down to it at that end anyway. There certainly isn't any path and there's a lot of crags in the way, so probably not advisable!

Fairy, the Jacky Lizard is Amphibolurus muricatus. You might be able to look it up. Another common name is Tree Dragon. (Can't work out how to make the italics work).  They are funny little things. They tilt their heads to look at you when you wander past, but will take off if you try to pat them, The Blue Tongue had gone when I next went out there. My book says it's a Blotched Blue Tongue. Proper name is Tiliqua nigrolutea.

lovely photos, by the way. I hadn't read back when I posted the photos. Enjoyed the new puzzles thanks.

Good morning all image An even sharper frost here today -3.9C in the sheltered back garden. Blackbirds are tucking into their porridge and a robin is singing in the ash tree.

Morning image. It's a lovely sunny day but it's white over and at -6C I'm going to stay under the duvet a wee bit longerimage

Lovely pic from yesterday Fairy. See you're still accosting strange men in the hillsimage Good girl image

Your pics are interesting Pat - not sure how much I like lizards but they don't freak me like rats do.

Will be sorting out the camper later on - getting her ready for her first trip of the year

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Frost turned to freezing fog here. Suits my mood Dove - after that news  image

T'bird - nice chap - really experienced walker/climber/snowboarder and very interesting. Only other person on the hill  image

Well, apart from the three daft lassies near the bottom who clearly didn't believe the person that told them it was a 4 to 5 hour walk.  I told them that unless they were planning on running it,  which isn't possible anyway,  it would be dark by the time they got to the top. They weren't equipped either, so I expect they turned back. I hope so  image

Where are you going in the camper van T'bird - up here?

Forgot to say - thanks for the info Pat. I think they're lovely. We get adders on some of the eastern hills which freaks people out a bit, but they don't cause any issues that I know of.
