The Pantomime was really good, bright and lively, lots of singing and dancing, witticisms and jokes, great fun. Did cough from time to time, but so did others and no one really noticed among the general noise.
Spent my Christmas vouchers on 2 jumpers in M&S and bought a couple of spring tops in Debenhams. Had an Italian dinner before the Panto.
Clari, if you are getting the lurgy you probably won't be able to get out of bed or off the sofa to go to work anyway. Better warn the boss.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hope DiL recovers quickly LilyP, and that Clari is feeling better this morning. Certainly seems to be a lot of it about
Went to a great talk at the Garden Club last night .....theme was to disprove the saying the a snowdrop is a snowdrop is a snowdrop. Some incredible photographs and some beautiful (and actually very different) flowers. Always inspiring to listen to an enthusiast. This one opens his garden on a Saturday morning in February - its in my diary
Hoping to avoid the snow this evening - might make getting home a bit tricky......did I ever mention I live in a ravine ??
There has been a bad accident and car fire on the A52 between Derby and the M1. The A52 is closed. Guess whose house the diversion is going past? The whole area seems to be at Gridlock and the kiddiwinks haven't set off for school yet. I wish the idiot with the boombox would turn it down. I can hear it in the back bedroom through the double glazing. I dread to think what it sounds like in his car.
Morning all. It's certainly not the lurgy, just a normal cold made more dramatic by my medical issues.
Unfortunately the boss expected me to go into work with a bad chest infection so I can't see him wanting me to rest with a cold. Ideally of course I would stay well away but with no contract, no sick pay, and the knowledge that my school groups will be completely neglected without any explanation (if we ask them to cancel they'll then be lumped with bus fees but that still involves me going in to work to call them as I know no one else would), I will do what I always do.
Greet the school with a smile and let the teacher know I am feeling unwell so that they make the decision if they still want me to do the workshop. I think I've only ever had the one teacher tell me to forget the workshop and go rest. I don't think schools do infection control so much now. Certainly a teacher friend of mine is always commenting on how parents completely ignore the 48 hours rules.
Museums are such unhealthy places to visit; all those school children (and school children who should be off sick but are sent because mummy paid for the trip / doesn't want them to miss out with teachers having to deal with the full brunt of it when the calpol wears off) bring in their germs to be met with other children clearly off sick (fresh itchy chicken pox is most common but cleaning up vomit on 116 year old wooden floors is a fine art) being brought by parents because they're bored at home.

Bright here already - almost a full moon and just as bright as the super moon so it must still be pretty close in its orbit.
