I expect that would evaporate in about 5 minutes in your heat Pat.   Hope you're keeping comfortable.

    morning,

Dove thank you for advice re hats, I bought one the last time and shall certainly be wearing it. The cycle hood is a great idea. Thanks Joyce for confirming it!

    obelixx hope job done,

joyce I had bloods done yesterday, the "oldies" get appointments after 10 as long as it is done before 11 when collections  collected!  we were told we don't have to "fast" any longer (?)

pdoc I think role reversal in an environment that was so familiar to you must be very difficult

it's very cold out there, going to be out most of the day so it will be good practice for next week!

    birds are busy out there

I've been comfortable since the rain came this afternoon Obelixx. It really cooled things down. In fact, I feel like I should put some socks on.image

    Good morning all, hi Patimage

Just back with the dog and can confirm it's bitterly cold out there.  Plenty of birds too and I've just defrosted their bath.  My method of choice is a pan of boiling water placed in the middle.  I used to pour the water over but think that's what ruined the old bowlimage.

LilyP you must be getting quite excited nowimage.  It will be hard to pack enough warm clothes in your caseimage.  Joyce, poor OHimage.  At least he'll be happy nowimage

Hugs for DD.  It's a difficult time for you but keep popping in to 'see' us.

Well done GWRS for only putting on a pound.  Wish I could say the sameimage.  Slimming club starts tonight so I can try to repair some of the damage.

    Have a good day everyoneimage

Hmmm ... after a week of occasional sneezes and sniffles and accusatory looks at OH who's had a really horrid cold, I realise that I'm succumbing ... chest feels dry and tight and coughs are 'productive' image (sorry), nose is drippy and ears are bunged up and sound as if someone's trying to tune in a short wave radio in my head image

If only HM would stay in London when she has a lurgy ... we don't need her germs in Norfolk image

More proof that the front of this house is in a real frost pocket - school children and their parents are slipping and sliding on the black ice on the road and pavement at the front while we have no ice in the back garden, bird bath's not frozen, and the lowest overnight temperature in the back garden last night was +2C ... and it's still +2C image

Oh dear Dove, sorry to here you've got the lurgy. I thought you'd escaped as your OH has had it for a bit. I'm still bunged up, it's a hard one to shake off. Keep warm, rest and drink enough, that' what everyone said to me! My OH still hasn't caught it.

I seem to have lost 3 pounds since Christmas, must be my cold.

Not quite so cold this morning -2, no frost.

Glad Joyce managed to get her OH to his fasting blood test successfully. Must be hard.
