Second coffee made and tucked up in bed again. While I was up I pulled a coat on and scattered porridge oats for the blackbirds - there are more than twenty out there in our smallish garden
Its freezing hard again - I shall go out and defrost the birdbath and gently free up some edges around the pond.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning. Funny you mention OHs cooking Wonky; I was up all night with my stomach flaring. It's still cramping and squiffy now. If I didn't have 75 children visiting the museum today I'd build myself a nest in the bathroom and you tube the day away.
All the ingredients he uses are ones I can eat fine when I use them but it's not the first time he's tried to kill me with this dish. I don't know how or what he's doing. I think from now on I'll stick to getting him to microwave meals from the freezer if I want a night off cooking. There is enough fish pie, chilli con carne, pizza, and lasanges to feed us (if rather boringly) for a week.
Oh well; we're off to see the family this weekend so long car journey (agh) and mothers lack of understanding with regards to my dietary requirements will make it a roller coaster of fun. I'll pack a hamper and take it with me.
Sorry to hear you're suffering Clari . Do you still have a cold too?
Brrrr it's really cold here. According to the weather forecast it's the same as yesterday, but the frost is right the way to the top of the trees. Have only poked my nose out to see daughter off to school but it feels much colder.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
So fed up with this bug. I know it's gradually getting better but I had another huge bout of rib hurting coughing in the night and woke up with conjunctivitis (again) this morning. Don't think standing in the -9° cold for the Maire's funeral was a good idea. Been to the Pharmacie for drops.
We are almost out of milk so will have to go to the SM.
Glad Wonky is enjoying her new job.
Was -10° at 9am.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
BL - stay wrapped up warm indoors - I'm on the sofa with a coffee and buried in Jesse Burton's new novel, The Muse - brilliant and very enjoyable - highly recommended.

Good to hear from Wonky - so glad the new job suits.
Hard luck with the tum, Clari. Hope work isn't too horrendous.
Happy gardening, Hosta! Better to be home in the cold than in the Gambia in that volatile situation...
BL, hope you manage a bit more rest and get on top of this horrible bug. Dove has the right idea! (By the way, my novel appreciation group has just read "Elizabeth and her German garden" by Elizabeth von Arnim. Thoroughly recommended to anyone interested in gardening.)
Blue sky here today so I'm feeling much more smiley...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Morning all
OH has gone to work and I'm just waking up ...anyone got the kettle on ...?

Already on our second cuppa Dove. On parade to talk to a man about a small extension for a shower room.
-6C out there at 8am. Brass monkeys!
Staying in and keeping warm this morning. Hope everyone is also tucked up warm, whatever you're doing.
You would be very welcome, Hosta, if only I could package it up and send it to you.
Our promised rain didn't arrive. Grrr! Can't trust anyone nowadays.

Busy - you do need to rest in order to get fit again.
Hosta - the Costa Clyde is enjoying frost-free mild weather
