Morning everyone. I guess from your comments that you're expecting a freezing day. Hope you can all keep warm.

  • Oh DD my heart goes out to you, big hugs to you and Charlie.

You are going through such emotional turmoil at the moment while having to appear strong for Charlie's sake. It's no wonder that you are experiencing dark times when you get moments to yourself to reflect on past, present and future events.

Never be afraid to seek out and accept all help available to you .I know it sounds easy to say but there will be a point soon where the tides will turn and you will emerge much stronger and with renewed confidence to rebuild an exciting future for the both of you. And as always we will all be here to share your adventures with you, keep strong xx

Lesley - It was windy last night and I see that there's a Yellow warning for South Ayrshire for high winds and snow from tomorrow evening until the weekend. Brrrr

    Morning all/afties Pat image

LP - at least you'll miss the cold weather when you go on your trip...err...well...maybe not....image

Hope it goes smoothly and you have a great time. Pack an extra simmit image

We'll probably catch a bit of snow and hail/sleet here too Joyce. We've been lucky though - it's been a very straighforward winter so far. Yesterday was a reminder of the horrible stuff we usually get for weeks on end!

Wonder if Hosta has his mankini on yet...image

Thinking of you today DD. Keep holding our virtual hands and you'll soon be catching stars  x

Salt mine beckons so I'd better get sorted. See you all later image

    Good morning all image

DD ((hugs)) I can only echo what everyone else had said - there is nothing to be ashamed of for accepting help. Feeling that you should be able to cope without help seems to me as if it's part of the way your ex uses to weaken your resolve and control you.  Have no compunction about using what help is available to you to enable you to change that balance of power - as has been said, medication will help you to recover from trauma until your body is well enough to produce the right chemicals on its own. ((Hugs))

Many of us have been there - we're with you - you're not alone.

    Hi all.

DD you will get through this, you are a strong resourceful person, who puts most of us to shame.

Any of us in your position would feel similarly and would not be coping well.

As a doctor, I found it difficult to accept help for my depression and left things far too long, resulting in a far worse situation.

Use any help that is available, it is a sign of strength, not weakness, to seek help.

On a totally different matter, why is there a proliferation of chat sites? Seems very divisive to me. Are we going to end up with a break away forum?

When new people join, what will they think?

DD I don't know you as well as others on here, but wanted to add my good wishes. I'm sorry that you've been feeling so bad, but hopefully it will be as you say - rock bottom, and the only way is up. You seem to me to be a wise person, knowing when to ask for / accept help and to have good friends around you. I know I think of you often and wonder how you are, so I'm sure those who've known you longer or in person do so even more. There are strengthening  vibes coming your way the whole time, you are not alone!

    Hello everyone!

Hope all suffering from the Dreaded Lurgy are beginning to feel a bit better, and those on holiday or about to go away are having/will have a fab time.  And best wishes for today, DD.

I'm posting from the train, en route to visit my sister and then our Mum.  Hopefully the staff will have remembered we asked for a review of Mum's care - they are a lovely bunch of caring people, but paperwork isn't their strongest skill...

The weather near York is lovely.  Hope it's not too bad for the rest of you!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
