Oh I wish my girls would wear them! They would both suit them, even though they're very different shapes and have very different taste in clothes. Oldest has a friend who always wears a black patent pair and they look great. She wore them all through high school. I was quite surprised that the 'uniform Nazi' (as I used to call the wumman in charge of school uniform rules) allowed it. She could be quite vicious  image

I don't know if you'd suit the ballet dress doc...image

I now have 'caulker's finger'...no tittering at the back. All gaps round hall doors, frames, skirting, light switches, sockets, shower room and children are filled in. If you stay still long enough, you'll get caulkedimage

Thanks BL. I may post a pic of something just to boost it a bit for spring coming soon....image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Cool!

Could never afford the DMs when I was a student but also loved Converse boots - and had raspberry ones. Had some fun in those!

    See original post

I had raspberry Converse when I did Foundation at Art School when I was 39 image

    LG the L.

That is interesting, I am 58 too. I was there on and off from 1984 to 1991. Worked a bit abroad at various times during that period too.

How can you lie there and think of England

I am a converse girl through and through! No idea how many pairs I have but my black and white star ones are my faves ? Also have black patent DMs! And I'm only 27 ?

Hi everyone hope all are well and you're all getting ready for your gardening year.

    Xx

I wonder if you knew each other! She was a student then junior doctor, but I think she also did some stints at Birmingham and Derby. Not sure of exact years or order as I was a kid at the time, not paying mch attention.

I've only ever had a bargain pair of DMs from TKMAXX. Much loved and incredibly comfy. I could never face the breaking in period for the iconic ones. I adore Converse but with wide feet they don't like me. I  discovered this with the most gorgeous pair ever, now long departed for the All Stars in the sky:

I eventually got them comfortable but it took a lot of breaking in and I wouldn't do it again.

Sorry,  will stop banging on about shoes now image

I've just spoken to Wonky - she said to tell you all that her first day has gone well  - her colleagues are lovely and she's enjoying her induction - however it's a while since she did a lot of computer work - she thinks she probably needs to get new specs image *Her lovely hub took her for lunch when they had their break image

    Evening all!

I inherited my DMs from my daughter, who grew out of them...  image  ...in the end I wore them out, but they lasted for years.

Arrived late to my Art class this morning because I had to stop in the park and watch a pair of goldcrests flitting about in a holly bush.  Such delicate little birds - I thought they were wrens at first, but they're much slimmer, with that giveaway stripe on their heads.  I've never seen them here before so it was a lovely surprise.

    Hello BM!
