We have the most amazing hoar frost out thereimage. I knew there was a reason I didn't tidy my borders last year - they look magical (worth it even if it only lasts a couple of hours .....they'll be back to mushy brown sticks by middayimage)

Morning all, evening Pat, beautiful photos, they give us hope for better growing weather!

LG sorry to hear your having sleep trouble, this is a good place to find like minded company in the small hours! Have fun DM buying, I remember getting some for my step daughter at fifteen, she was mortified to hear I'd had a pair! image

Fidget, the garden sounds a real project! Glad you got away before they put you to work!

Obelixx, have fun designing your new kitchen,  the sink in the bathroom sounds like your going to get concussion if it stays where it is too! Be careful image

Morning Dove when you get here image

Pdoc, I'm sure your not a jabba the hurt lookalike but if so, he looks like he gives good hugs!

OK, I'm nearly looking like a female witch is a novelty for work! Have a great day all!

    Hi all.

Very cold outside, but sun is trying to break through.

OH has given me a list of chores to do, but might get out to remove some mole hills later.

I thought Bushman popped in a couple of days ago.

OH won't let me take decs down till 12th night!  Soppy git.

Here is the head banging beam.  The previous owners were shorter than us but, even so, it's a daft pace to put the basin.  I'm 168 cms tall while OH and Possum are 179.  Not exactly giants.

No sign of the plumber yet...............   Been booked since late October so I hope he's just dealing with an emergency and hasn't lost the plot.

    Morning all. -5 here.

Felt awful last night, temp 101, may go to Doc, worrying as flying to England on Friday.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I figure if all the excess dying conifers come out, it will let in a lot more light. the eucalypt and a couple of mature beech will give some structure.  The boundary on that side will increase by about 5 m .  I have no idea why you would plant a row of conifers so far in to the garden. It's so not a boundary hedge and as a room divider they are way out of control.

I can grow some plants on to go in, but there is a lot of clearing to do first. There is no point putting in plants that will suffer from lack of light,
