Just heard from Wonky - new boss wants her to start tomorrow rather than in ten days time image

Gosh, is Wonky happy with that? Is her 'flu completely over? I suppose it means an earlier pay packet.

    Hi everyoneimage

Did a Hosta last night - still awake when the alarm went off for OH to go to work at 4am. Managed a couple of  hours after he left but have spent all day feeling a bit like a wrung out dish rag. image

Did a few jobs but sat down now. Determined to stay awake until proper bedtime and then hopefully a better night.

Clari your 'shed' looks like a proper potential utility room. Make sure it happens. Love the air raid shelter sign and the stone bottles - have a few bits & pieces like that myself. They make things homey - although a warm house is top of the list for that!

Hope Chicky had a good day with Dad & the rest of you are keeping warm - gonna be a cold one tonight - brrrr

Edit: You snuck home while I was posting Dove. Love to WW - hope she is happy with earlier start date

BL yes she's happy with that. As you say, the money will be handy and there's less time for first day nerves to build up image And she'll be in a warm office image

Topbird - hope you get a better night tonight image

Chilly tonight! Agree with those who love a crisp, cold but sunny winter's day. The birds and squirrels were out in force in my garden - an up-lifting sight after being indoors for what seems like weeks!

Did a shop for my Dad (who has man-flu) then took down all the Christmas paraphernalia which included OH using some vicious power tool to trim the tree into smaller bits (some for shredding and some for the hedgehog log pile).

Lounge looks a bit bare now... so ordered a new coffee table in the 'sales'! I had been resisting a coffee table, partly as it seems to be a clutter-magnet and partly because of toddler niece, but over the festive period I realised that we actually could do with one.

Take care everyone and keep toastie

Lantana I've been educating myself! Did you know it was only last year that regulations changed so that they should be made of non combustible material? image

I have just painted the area that has been prepped for its arrival. So I can claim that today we started painting!

As for the space now the tyres are gone. I keep drawing on the floor chalk outlines of potential tables. Just in case we see one in the sales I like the look of.

Aunty: keep a nice box under the coffee table. All the junk gets put in that and people are told to claim it (put it away) or loss it (bin). It keeps the top nice and clear and hides the little bits that always try to make their way there.

Wonky; enjoy your first day! I hope the office isn't too warm for your liking.

Always looks a bit empty when the decs come down, doesn't it AuntyRach? I'll leave ours for a few days - they didn't go up till quite near Christmas anyway.

Dinner's been had here - nice bit of squirrel. Goulash actually....

Keep cracking that whip Clari - don't let the momentum drop image

Exciting for Wonks Dove. Hope it all goes well.

T'bird - hope tonight is better, but don't feel any guilt about a nothingy sort of day and parking your a**e image

More hole filling and painting done and coat hooks put on inside of cupboard door etc. Looks as though I've done nothing though, since everything was pretty white to start with apart from the door frames  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Crikey Wonky - short notice but good news.  Just enough time to get the muck out of your nails ready for office work!

Clari - well done.   Keep up the momentum and, when he falters, concentrate on getting your space sorted and not cleaning up shared space to make it more bearable.

Well done FG too.  Hope you get a good walk in soon.   Our fog finally lifted this pm after 5 days or murk.  Might get a bit of sun tomorrow.

Not a lot done here today apart from dry shampooing and cleaning the big rug in the dining room so we can roll it up and put it and the dining table away for a while and have a mini dance floor to practise our steps.   Bit more cleaning and floor washing and sorting out before taking the kittens for their jabs.

They were very wriggly and not at all keen on being prodded and poked and weighed.   Both have put on just over a kilo in the 5 weeks we've had them, despite cat flu.   Back in 3 weeks for the top up jabs and rabies jabs and to sterilise Minstrel.  They can go outside 2 weeks after that.  Daren't let them out before it's all effective as the farm next door has unvaccinated cats.

Vegetarian dinner tonight.   Need to think thin and healthy after all the indulgences of the last 10 days.

Hope everyone gets a good sleep tonight, especially those going on hols or back to work.
