People who drive with side lights on are the ones who get me. It means they've thought about it and made the decision to use lights - but only the little ones. What's that all about? If the conditions warrant using any lights use dipped headlights - end of Sorry - rant over.
Lots of "no lights" and "side lights only" drivers last week when we essentially drove 200 miles through a cloud. Meant there were quite a few places where we couldn't overtake slow drivers because we couldn't be sure there wasn't an unlit silver car hiding in the fog.
Don't worry Joyce and Fairy. When we come to Scotland next week we'll be sure to pull over if we can see there are cars queuing behind us. We know that not everybody is out for a leisurely drive and I don't need a Fairy up my jaxxy thanks very much
Lovely kitty stories Obx. Make the most of it. Like babies they grow up very fast.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Morning all! Evening Pat, Hope everyone is well and warm. I'm sure Pat is!
Very cold and frosty here -3 still and the lawn is white! Snuck out of bed and switched the heating on at 8.30 as it was only 12 in the house! Now sat at the kitchen table, purple dressing gown, 2nd coffee, staring out the window at the very deceptive sunshine on the back garden....the birds are at the feeders from the climbing rose over the shed and its mainly blue tits, great tits, robins, hedge sparrows and a couple of blackbirds.
Fairy, that was one of the most glorious views in your picture! I wouldn't mess with your calf muscles if they can get up there!
Pat, not sure which is rarer in this country, lizards or sunshine! thanks for sharing yours!
Clari, hope your belly is feeling better after OHs attempt at cooking dinner!
Topbird, love the sound of your acmper van, that's the way to do it! have a lovely time.
Happy belated birthday to Possem, Obelixx, hope those kittens are looking after your poor toe!
Really wanna see this haircut now Hosta! where do I look? The Daily Male...teehee
Keep wrapped up Dove and BusyL, you have been Ill too long to relapse now! Take recovery slowly and don't do too much!
I've been watching a show on YouTube with Monty Don't, written about it on programs to watch thread, absolutely hooked, best garden show I've seen in yonks! Had to share!
Will I send you my current registration so that when you look in the mirror you can tell if it's me
Yes - the majority of the unlit cars were silver..... I was always very aware of that with my last car as it was silver. I think it's the most common colour on the road now.
Wonks - have you got one of those digital doo dahs for the heating? They're brilliant. I'm a fairly recent convert since I got the new boiler. I have mine set at 13 for overnight, and it does occasionally kick in through the winter despite the house being well insulated, but most importantly, you can take it to bed with you and then turn it on from there on a chilly morning
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy, that sounds amazing! Unfortunately we don't but its not so bad, the control is right near the bathroom, so when nature calls.... we could set the timer but then we find it is on whether we need it or not. The open fire in the basement spreads the heat well and gives the appearance of underfloor heating in the kitchen!
Blinking chilly outside still though. Just went to get Flatters from his catcave in the shed and his water was frozen! He was totally toasty in the sheepskin lined catcave though! But he's indoors now playing with Harrie, surrounded by radiators!
Morning Dove, glad to hear your on the mend! Don't talk too loudly about Suffolk rusks or Dad will be over! I'm surprised he didn't negotiate a regular supply in divorce settlement!
I only have mine set for an hour in the morning for getting up, and an hour for when I get in, although I often put it on for a little while when I'm for lunch on work days. The girls can put it on manually if they're in during the day and it's chilly. It doesn't take long for the house to heat up. Not had it on nearly as much this winter though.
The wireless thermostat is handy if I get up earlier to walk though, although it didn't yesterday as the pressure had dropped. Wasn't too bad really
Those sound good Dove. I could just manage a little something....

Fairy, since cat club has been relocated to an indoor venue, we are big fans of camping on the bed with the electric blanket on! Much cheaper than running the heating!
Know what you mean Fairy! Although we have found that getting and keeping this flat warm is easier and cheaper than the last flat. There were too many high ceilinged hall bits and useless spaces with drafts. Very glad to have the open fire, we take old pallets home from work and hubby saws them up, hey presto....very toasty! still opt for a fleece blanket too from time to time tho!

Morning Wonky
Think I'm nearly recovered ... just took a batch of Suffolk Rusks out of the oven
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Wonks - I'm a big fan of a warm fleece and a throw when sitting on the sofa
Looking at the increases in the gas prices this year, I think it'll be two fleeces and two throws!
