LG - well done for the lean-to greenhouse. Exciting new toy.
Lily - hope the journey goes well.
Liri - good advice re contracts etc. Absurd in this day and age not to have sick pay for a permanent job whether part or full time. Boss sounds positively antediluvian. Needs a wake up.
Chicky - your snowdrop man sounds lovely. What did you buy? I have brought some of our ordinary ones with me as I potted them up last spring whilst in the green but the little clump of taller, broad-leaved ones wasn't showing in September when we left.
Busy - glad you enjoyed your panto and shopping.
This morning we've dropped Minstrel off at the vet's so no more sing-songs although the bum waving and snuggling was endearing. Pheromone collars for the dogs have arrived so we hope Bonzo will calm down about kittens and strangers and we're trying one on Rasta to see if it reduces her barking. She used to be quiet but since we've had Bonzo she needs to tell him everything whether it's visitors or passers-by.
Then we popped into a local kitchens place. Very helpful chappy with lots of good advice. Estimate by Saturday. Will be an arm and a leg job but he has his own, salaried installers and craftsmen and can tweak it to measure.
Cosmos is missing his pal and very cuddly. I'm off to keep him company while I fit a hook on our dressing room door. It's where I feed the kittens and Rasta keeps raiding it when I'm not looking. Do not want a Fat Rasta.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Just seen a flock of geese fly over from the west - they must be travelling ahead of the bad weather - looks like they're heading for the marshes around the Yare estuary.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Afties all - no pooter this morning as it was 'updating'
Anyway, it gave me time to clear the snow and ice off the car, and feed the birds earlier than usual. The blackie was sitting on the fence in the dark looking hopefully at the house. Nuthatches are enoying the restaurant regularly which is great. We haven't had too much snow(yet) - an inch or two, but it fell on ice so the side roads were interesting! The drivers who don't know how to drive in it are the biggest problem though
Snowing on and off all morning but a bit of watery sun has helped. It'll have given you a bit of practice for your journey LP
Hope you get a decent kitchen Obelixx. Pricey, but worth it if you're going to be there forever, so to speak. You can get it suited exactly for you and your needs.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good reminder about bird food Fairy. Will check ours before it gets silly out there.
Would love to have nuthatches and tree creepers and long-tailed tits.
As for the kitchen, ours is L shaped with most of the action in the dark end so I need a light reflecting kitchen with easy access drawers for everything and high work tops. The current one is low and has cupboards with fixed shelves - very inefficient space usage and bad for my bad back. I've always liked the flexibility of IKEA accessories but not the quality of the units themselves and this chap seems to meet both needs - for a price, but it will be worth it. Just need to get the annex sorted now.
Garden too but that needs a man with a bulldozer and our neighbours recommend a chap who's just got a a new knee......

Two workshops done one to go. The teacher decided I wasn't too much of a health risk to her classes. I reek of anti bacterial gel and have changed the way I teach to be less cosy more spread out.
No sign of snow here, there's been a smattering on the rural areas but no threats of getting my sledge out yet.
Been to Specsavers to picked up the glasses I trod on, good as new now.
Then we went to a friend and neighbour for coffee and Christmas cake, just got back. Starting to rain, may turn to snow later. I seem to be coughing more today, bother.
Kitchens are important, I'm sure it will be worth it even though more expensive than hoped and it will last for years. Of course you'd mentioned the Rangemaster before, Obelixx, I just had a memory lapse, because of being over 27.
I hope Clari's bug stays a cold and Dove's isn't being too awful.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Can't blame them. Set to get very windy here this pm and cold and wet too. Snow a bit further inland.
There's certainly plenty of activity around the bird feeders this morning

Boiler not working since mid-morning. Engineer coming this afternoon.
Snowing again and house is cold apart from one room which has a gas fire.
