Ha ha Busy - I read the end of your last sentence as "I hope Dove isn't being too awful" - wondered what on earth she'd been up to
Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today.
Also hope you get your boiler fixed Joyce - not a good day for a breakdown. Our house is a bit cold today but that's because I'm a bit tight when it comes to turning up the heating - plenty of jumpers in the wardrobe. OH doesn't agree so no doubt the thermostat will be turned up when he gets home.
Wet, grey and cold here - forecast for heavy snow later on. Am going to make hot pot and cottage pie now - proper winter food
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I think the bug has got to you more than being 27 Busy. Pity there isn't a French Specsavers. I could do with some decent reading glasses.
This stupid gas oven isn't properly calibrated so even at mark 1 it burned my Xmas cake with all its irreplaceable dried fruit. Have only seen teeny packs of raisins here and expensive too. No dried cherries either. Not to mention all that booze gone to waste! Oh well.

Oh Joyce how grim for you.Hope it gets fixed pronto.
Obelixx how long to get your new oven, terrible. It to be able to cook!
we have had a h... of a start to the "adventure" Had heavy snow this morning causing the village to be gridlocked. Two jackknifed lorries at the top of the road end. OH left with dogs and had to return hours later having got nto even a mile up the road. Blessed friend going to care for them tonight and take them tomorrow. Why can't we cope with 3" of snow?
we left very early for airport and got here in an hour no snow. Flight not for hours but tucked up in a cosy corner reading what you have all been up to
Fairy, hope you don't get any snow tomorrow but the gantries had warnings on them passed M77
take care over the weekend and hope snuffles and germs lessen

the sky here is heavy and darkening - I've topped up the feeders (with my coat and scarf on) and put some more ground feed down - the birds are hungry - they know there's a chilly night ahead.

OH still in Belfast as far as I know. There is lots of snow there I believe.
No snow here. 5C and drizzle. The gritters are out.
I went shopping. One till out of 4 on, plus the DIY tills. I stood behind 6 people at the manned till. gave up and tried DIY. Till would not play with my bags. At the third attempt to scan something, I threw it back in the trolley and went and joined the till queue again. I made loud voice about needing more tills on. Eventually another till was opened. A woman with only a couple of packets of carrots beat me to it. We then had a pantomime involving one packet being refunded, then both being scanned together to get the two for £3 price. It took ages. By the time I eventually got served, I was fuming. Thank you for waiting says the poor girl on the checkout. Not your fault, I said, but if there is a manger about I would like to rip his head off. YOU NEED MORE TILLS ON AT LUNCHTIME. GRRR.

Topbird , think Wonky would confirm I'm quite capable of being awful
Joyce - are your boiler repair company aware that you have a 'vulnerable person' in the house? If not do let them know - you should be prioritized.
