Welcome Home Punkdoc and belated Happy Birthday DD.
Punkdoc, We flew home last Wednesday half way through out holiday. Many on the flight had been in the country less than 24 hours. All in all, it was handled well and we were glad to be out of it.
I've just spoken with the holiday company and we're being given a pro-rata refund of the nights we missed. Seems fair enough to me. No hassle , no quibbling. I also made a point of telling them how well it was handled by the "Rep" on the ground . She was very pleased to hear someone being positive about it. ( I guess folk have been moaning ) and she said she's pass our comments on.
The pergola has been repaired. I had feared the new post might stick out like a sore thumb, but it's fine. Roses all retrained too.
The Rock was very reluctant to move this morning ( i.e. it wouldn't ) so I gave up. Went back onto it this afternoon and it's raised off its resting place now.
Good to have you back, doc. I'd wondered where you were 'cos I thought you weren't away till the end of this month...
Hope the restorative powers of the holiday last a good while for you
We've had a very traditional Burns Night dinner. Pork stir fry
Good to hear you've had a good response for the holiday compensation Hosta. I agree with you about mentioning helpful people to their superiors. I know how much it means to people, and it only takes a minute to do.
Happy belated birthday DD. 21 again?
Great to hear you had support. Makes it all a bit easier to deal with. The tablets will help too.
Have a 'special' cake on me xxx
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Happy belated Birthday DD. I am going to try and make my garden water wise as this drought is no good for plants that need a lot of water, it has been cooler today only 28 and with a lovely wind to dry the washing. We had 1mm of rain last night, but the wind has now dropped. Pat i know we get the heat but no snakes touch wood. good night all.
Happy Birthday for yesterday DD - have you joined the '27 again Club' yet? Lovely of your friends to organise a party for you.
Hope you are able to enjoy your trips Dove - they sound like fun. I think we'll be going back to London sooner rather than later. There's another couple of galleries I want to do at the V&A and I quite fancy a wander round Borough Market - grazing as we go... What a little porker I yam
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good to hear from you, DD.
Dove, have you completely stopped coughing yet? I feel a lot better, but I'm still coughing, especially at night.
Enjoyed lunch in the Chinese Wok Place though.
Not really coughing any more BL. The occasional 'rattle' but that's all. Hope yours clears up soon. ((Hugs))

Hosta ... I cant help thinking that The Rock should be called Peter ... The effects of Sunday School are obviously long lasting
Always good to give positive feedback in situations like that. It can't have been easy for the Rep
