Good morning all. Good hard frost here and probably not the first as I didn't even bother to bother the 1st of January flower count. Nothing...and most of that is dead!

I spotted an Eastern Spinebill hopping from one Red Hot Poker to another just off the veranda, so I asked Hubby if he could get a photo of it. It was sipping nectar from the hanging flowers. Very nice to watch. There was a good bit of wind which made the pokers dance around, so the photos aren't  really clear, but I'll see if I can get a reasonable one for you to see.  Just have to wait for him to get off the phone.image

You're very naughty Pp. I did that a few years ago...marvellous! Just the interior decoration to finish now  image

Colder than I thought - minus two. Ground isn't white though - mainly an air frost after the dry spell yesterday, although the gravel's nice and solid underfoot and the pond was frozen. I managed to avoid putting my foot in too far to break it though. I've made that mistake before...  image

NIce bit of sunrise but I can't get a good pic from this house. Too many pylons on the horizon  image

I thought of walking again today but a lot of the hills are mist and fog bound so I'm better getting on here before going back to the salt mine tomorrow image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I live in Bury, not a very exciting place, where do you all live?

Pat looking forward to seeing your photos, I don't think I've ever seen one before ?

It looks like a Christmas card here. No wonder my plants are all little brown sticks. I've not had a harsh Winter since moving here but it's freezing and permanently damp. Looks like my Jasmine has succumbed. image
