Fairy. Kinlochleven, late 1950s, early 60s. A friend's mother was a nurse at the BA factory and was allocated a factory house on the Argyll side of the village. . . no baths but one night a week was ladies night at the factory showers. I stayed with them occasionally and shower night along with the mobile cinema night in the village hall were our highlights. We often walked up the pipe line.
Just planning my next Scotland trip. It'll be a working holiday, as I have to construct some outside storage for the three enormous recycling bags the council have seen fit to supply us with. (They obviously don't know the size of the cottage...) Anyway, the trip isn't until the middle of March, but I'm already looking forward to it.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Afternoon all.
Finished for the day with a nice cuppa and the last of the xmas cake.
It was 4.7C in the tunnel when I closed the doors. Another cold one tonight methinks.
Thanks Fairy. I couldn't remember if I had mentioned it or not.
Glad you had a nice walk.

Hope your hair isn't too damaged. What a silly boy you are. As long as it's not 'Trump' like, you could always wear a hat
Happy days Joyce.
I think the Alcan factory that was there closed a while ago too - eaten up by one of the big boys for producing tin foil.
I reckon I can safely say that my lunchtime view was better than most people's today. Whatcha reckon?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy - I can't imagine a much better view than that
Spent the afternoon with my feet up with a good book and Radio 3. Now OH is washing up and I'm listening to Nick Drake.
Bliss.

My OH loves lime pickle too, but I have never made it.
One good thing about all this resting with a bug is that the tendonitis in my shoulder is almost cured.
Every cloud has a silver lining, BL...
