I'm much improved thanks Pat - still a bit sniffly and spluttery - but nothing like as bad as I was. im so glad as I'm meeting foodie friends in London next weekend for a special treat and I want to be well
enough to enjoy it
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Really hard frost here too- looks like its been snowing out there ....very pretty.
Got a surprise 80thbirthday party to go to today, down in the New Forest
Off to scour the papers for Hosta lookalikes ......think I'll stick to the Times though .....the other one is banned from this iPad. Will also help me avoid the front pages. Think I'll be doing a lot of that for the next while.
Was going to babysit 2 small grandsons this morning while their Mum went for an echography, baby due in May, but friends are doing it instead. Much as I love my grandsons, it is a relief.
Have fun, Chicky.
Off to scour the papers for photos of Hosta, but I don't know what he looks like!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Back to grey skies again today, but at least it's not foggy.
BL, I know Hosta is over 6ft tall and has lost a lot of weight... not a lot to go on... Glad you're having unexpected extra rest today; hope it helps you to feel more perky soon.
Pat, it would be really interesting to hear if the weather-predicting birds were accurate! I don't think we have any equivalent forecasters in Britain. The only thing my local birds tell me is that their food needs topping up... though in high summer, when the sky over the valley is full of rooks, jackdaws, seagulls and starlings wheeling round making a noise, we know it's "ant flying day" - the birds love them.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

update on The Times: a friend has just messaged me to say we're also in the Hitler loving Daily Hate Mail.
How very dare they.
How embarrassing Hosta - we won't hold it against you

"embarrassing" ? it's shameful.
Which days paper? Is it a good photo? We could ask MIL to save it for you

Liri, I've never found the black cockatoos to be wrong, but I think there might be a first time. It's now after 9pm, and nothing has happened.
