-7° here. Heating oil has just been delivered so heating turned off to let it settle. OH has lit the woodburner, also the gas heater in the kitchen.
I clean the windows here, but not as often as I should, there are so many of them, also internal doors with glass panes. The only window cleaner I've found here is English and he lives in the Charente, miles away. But French windows open inwards so you don't have to go up a ladder outside.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
My OH has never offered to clean the windows. Doesn't seem to see the muck on windows but he does occasionally decide to tidy up and get out his bloody Dyson. I suppose I'd better go and buy the promised robot before he sees the likely bill for the new kitchen!

Don't want to bring doom and gloom to the forum but I am not feeling too good, it's emotional not physical and I just can't seem to pull myself together. I know it will be alright in the end, everyone keeps telling me so, but right now it doesn't feel alright and hiding under the bed covers seems the only thing I am up to.
If you don't hear from me for a few days don't worry, I'm just finding the burden of writing positive cheerful posts too difficult and don't want to explain all the worries and emotions I am going through. I know you are all really supportive of me, I know a whole lot of people care about me but just now I can't face anyone or anything. I need to pull myself together and try and see the positives. Hopefully be back soon.

DD ((hugs)) you don't have to be cheerful - just keep putting one foot in front of the other and holding on tight - love and support here when you need it.
It's hard when you feel that everything depends on you isn't it ... even if it always did ... when you really are on your own it can feel scary if you stop and think about it ((hugs))
LillyPilly - son says when you get there buy furry hats with flaps that cover your ears and long wool scarves. Get them over there ... much cheaper ... take thermal ski hoods (a bit like balaclavas) and a woolly hat to wear over the top with you to wear when you arrive.

DD - very warmest wishes to you and Charlie. This is a dark time of year for many people - so you do whatever helps to get you through it. That includes going to see your doctor if you still feel this low after a couple of weeks. Does going for a run lift the spirits? - even if only for a couple of hours.
You don't have to be bright & breezy on here. Keep looking in even if you don't feel up to posting - we'll be waiting when you're ready to come back

We're all thinking of you, DD, and sending love and hugs. xx

Off to the optician in a mo. Might be referred to specialist for cataract treatment - we shall see... (hmm, sorry, no pun intended!)
We have a window cleaner who comes when he hasn't anything better to do.
Do what you feel best for you, DD. As you say, you know we are supporting you.
DD (((hugs)))
Many people find January a bit of a gloomy month after all the Christmas biz. Hope you feel brighter soon.

I bought one of those hats in Moscow and wore it in the garden for years. Kept the wind and cold out.
