Just a bit late today though have been up and about, dog walked twice then into sik's for her 'party' day. Had a great time (no cooking today) and used my new satnav to find the way there and back. Sad, I know but I've found out how it works.
Hope chicky and family helped to bolster her Dad's spirits and that he will be moving to the lovely place for r&r very soon.
Fairy, well done with the hole filling and painting. No wonder you'd rather have been on the hills. Is Fairylet fully recovered now?
Obelixx, well done with the cat wrangling. They really don't appreciate it but as I was told as a youngster after a smack - 'it's for your own good'.
Good luck in the new job Wonky - we'll be thinking about you
Clari that looks like an amazing space and I'm sure you'll make the most of it. Keep him at it.
Has the satnav got a name yet Lesley? You'll need one so that you can give it a proper talking to when it takes you down a rutted farm track as the "shortest available route". Or when you ignore it, because you know best, and it tells you to "turn around when possible" every ten seconds for the next ten miles
Had a lovely pub lunch with Dad. Great place (thank heavens for TripAdvisor), great atmosphere, great food, and they let 9 of us sit there from 1pm til 4.30 without once trying to hurry us along. Perfecto
Good luck tomorrow Wonky - you're gonna be ace
Glad to hear kittens are settling, and that Lizzie is shaking off her cold. Won't be long before bed here - that 6.15 alarm is going to be a horrible shock tomorrow
Fairylet is fine thanks - think she was fed up with me calling her Chewbacca. That's helped the recovery
She should have been working today but they swapped her to tomorrow so that's given her an extra day too.
Lovely that you had a relaxed time with your dad, chicky. Nothing worse than feeling you've outstayed your welcome - nicer when dad can decide when he's had enough
Managed about ten seconds of a satnav and I was ready to chuck it out the window.
Would definitely have preferred a scouring wind like yesterday than hole filling and undercoating, but it needs done. How is your decorating coming on obelixx? It's a neverending job sometimes - or feels like it. I'm too particular as well, which isn't always a good thing. Hate badly finished work but, like most things a healthy balance is the way, and learning to just let some things go is what I'm trying to do more of.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Evening folks recovered from new years but must confess to sleeping through most of new years day so a little bit of a shock to get a text from new boss asking me to start Tuesday! but your right Joyce, it does help the nerves knowing they know me and STILL wanted to give me a job!
I've spent today being sensible, tidying house, cooking meals, tidying again, cleaning muck from fingernails is right Obelixx!
Chicky, glad you had a great day with the family today and your father enjoyed his birthday gathering.
Hosta safe travels to you both, enjoy the heat and the rest! You will return to spring bulbs and miss all the nasty bit!
Lovely pictures Pat! Nice to see some colour in a garden!
Clari, excellent progress! Now just chain him to the boiler and radiators that he has to fit!

What'd I miss? I thought Wonks had a great new job.
Now there's another great new job. Good on you girl.
I hope it works out for you.

Chicky - a blast of cold air will soon have you awake when you go out in the morning.
Your dad would have enjoyed his time out with you today
Wonky - I'm sure all will go well tomorrow especially as you are "known". You wont need to wear your thermals
Eh, Wonky - bet you enjoy the warmth tomorrow! Hope it goes well.
Clari, that's a real old-fashioned wash house like my mother-in-law used to have! Smashing.
Glad outings have been enjoyed (Lesley, Dove, Punkdoc, Chicky...) in this lovely winter weather. I only got as far as the shops, but enjoyed the view.
My OH loves his satnav. He can say rude things to the woman giving him directions, without causing offence.

"learning just to let some things go"
It took me a while after retirement to develop that frame of mind Fairy.
There's always another day to catch up and, if not, you wont be worrying about it
Not easy though, is it Joyce? I'm my father's daughter
All the best for tomorrow Wonks - you'll be great!
