Yesterday was the first morning for about 10 days with no frost, and yet the temperature didn't get above freezing all day .....whats that aboutimage  Will be interesting to see whether there are garden casualties this year - its been colder for longer than the last few years.  I fear for my penstemon etc.

Monring all/afties Pat if you're there....

Sharp frost here. Would have been great weather for walking yesterday and today, and it's not great for the weekend now with heavy snow and fog and such...image

Will need to research a bit for the best option. All part of the fun image

Some a**e kicking will keep you warm Clari....

chicky - that's why I don't bother with plants like Penstemons. Too 'borderline',  and therefore too much effort for  me  image

I'll have a quick look round before the salt mine beckons. It's Friday though....hurrah!

Stay cosy folks. Catch you all later

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Re drving. I think everyone should have to re-sit their driving test every ten years until retirement age then it should be every 3 years.

If you're deemed old enough to give up work, maybe, just MAYBE your eyes, ears, hazard perception, reaction speed aren't as good as they were when you were younger.  No " assessment" sit the proper driving test. The same one new drivers are sitting. If you're good enough, you pass, if you're not , you fail. 17 or 70, sit the same test.

We   (Hubby and my daughters , aged about 7 and 9 at the time ) were narrowly missed by an 83 year old driving a car onto the pavement and through a shop window in Guildford.

    Almost the weekend folks.

    Devon.

    Most all.

Most of the accidents I've seen or heard about here are caused by young people. In England the young have more fatal accidents than the old. The safest people are those between 50 and 70. With the old, it's not the lack of knowledge needed for a test, it's slower reactions, especially in built up areas and figures show that they are the over 80s.

Going to see son today to have my tooth repaired and am staying for lunch.

Most accidents are indeed caused by younger drivers,( but there are millions of them ) but I once read that if you break it down to the proportion of accidents relative to the number in that age group, old people are more likely to cause an accident.

    Lies, damn lies and statistics?

As I say, if they're good enough they'll pass.

I've met some people who have , by various means, obtained a license without ever sitting a test. ( in the armed forces is one example )
