    Morningimage

Another early start for us. OH will being leaving for work in the next few minutes and I am in the office doing my voluntary work. Always hated dark cold Monday mornings when I was working. I still do.

All Obx's talk of kitchens brought back memories of having ours done nearly 3 years ago. It was a very positive experience & I now have a lovely kitchen which really works for me - surprising how much easier it makes everyday tasks. The guys couldn't have been nicer but it was still weeks of disruption. Hard at the time - but definitely worth it.

So much 'stuff' came out of the old cupboards though. At least Obx shouldn't have that so soon after moving.

    Have a good one!

Morning all/afties Pat - sorry you've had such a hot day. I feel your pain even if others might be envious of the heat! image

Obelixx - I feel the same about grandchildren. My girls are probably fairly unlikely to have any children, and that's their choice, as it was mine to have them. I get slightly annoyed with women who see it as their 'right' to be a granny. Rights have got nothing to with it.

I've done new kitchens in two houses, both along with other building work in the house as well. I don't know if that makes it easier because you're so used to the mess and disruption.  It's remarkable how you can get used to it.  First one was probably worse because the girls were only 3 and 6 at the time.

I managed to slice a piece out of the tip of a finger yesterday. Scissors instead of secateurs this time. Who knew they were that sharp. I had to go out, so I needed some gaffer tape to hold teh micropore together and stop it bleeding eveywhere. Wasn't pretty.  Looking at it just now I think it could have done with a stitch. Too late though  image

Haven't caught Sherlock yet. Forgot to record it at New Year amd didn't realise there was a couple more either. Perhaps I won't bother.

Been wet here and it's a very grey day form what I can tell as it's still a bit dark.

Have a good day everyone whatever the weather. image

    Ouch! Fairy image

No grandchildren here which is not a problem for me. Wonky's step-wombles are lovely image  Son is still recovering from broken marriage - whether he will settle with someone else and what happens next is in the lap of the gods - no pressure from me - I'm perfectly content either way. image

I've discovered I have a hair appointment today. I shall wrap up warm and go in on the bus - I kno w she's on holiday next week and I can't go around looking like Worzel Gummidge for much longer!

    More coffee needed ....

Morning all. Ouch Fairygirl, do look after that finger.

Was hoping to finally plant my apple tree today. Waited out last week due to frosts, but now it's warmed up it's very soggy - been raining most of yesterday and still going today. The actual bed isn't waterlogged, so I suppose I could do it... but it's pretty yucky out there so I'm not entirely sure I want to!

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning everyone.

That fingertip will be sticking out like a sore... finger, Fairy!  Hope it heals quickly.

Glad the new psychologist seems promising, Pat.

Forecast for this week doesn't make me want to rush into the garden.  Plenty of "tupperware days" to come (can't remember where I heard that expression, but it seems about right for the grey, misty, damp weather when the sky is uniformly light grey - like living under a plastic bowl...).  But I suppose I should clear the soggy leaves off the gravel patio, before things start taking root in there.  If I can be bothered...

Think I'll get down to some sewing.  image

    Morning all.

Another hot sunny day here with just a hint of cloud. Might have my hair cut again.

I've just been chatting to the gardener who keeps an " allotment" just below our bedroom window. Funny how many of his veg we grow back at home in addition to African stuff I don't know. He speaks pretty good English and I showed him photos of my garden via the laptop. Can't keep us gardeners down eh?

No grandchildren for me thanks. No man is ever going to be good enough ( in my eyes ) for my precious Angels.

Tomorrow marks the middle of our holiday and it's going well. Very quiet here and we're usually tucked up in bed by 10.30 at the latest, although I was still wide awake at 3am. hey ho. image

We're in a block with 16 rooms over 2 floors and there's us upstairs and one family downstairs so nice and peaceful.

The cleaner was airing the other rooms on the top floor and , as we passed, I spied ...... a teapot!!!! I asked if we could borrow it for the rest of our holiday and the cleaner was only too pleased to hand it over. Such simple pleasures.

Sounds like a lovely holiday, Hosta. Very relaxing. Has punkdoc gone on his travels yet? And I wonder how LillyP is getting on in Moscow.

Rain shows no sign of stopping here so I think I'll stay indoors. My mood could probably do with some gardening, but it's just too soggy. I have some mending to do (and loads of other things that really need doing, tbh) - enjoy your sewing Liriodendron.

Supposed to be wet but isn't.  Just grey.  OH has been emptying the annex so we can get plasterers and electricians in there to finish the work the previous owners started.   Either way, I will be able to camp kitchen in there while the real one is done.  It has no heating and I don't want any cos I have a cool, walk through between there and the real kitchen but it will be warmer in mid March anyway.

We'll walk the dogs together after lunch and then I too shall do some sewing - new jeans to shorten, frock for Possum, bag for Possum and then maybe a jacket for me.   It'll be fun if the kittens help.

Sounds like a lovely floppy holiday Hosta.   Are there places to visit or are you both just soaking up heat?   Gardener sounds lovely.

Hope all injured and lurgy sufferers are on the mend.  I sliced the end off my thumb once - never knew it had so many nerve endings!  Painful.
