Morningimage. Hope all poorly peeps are starting to turn a corner.

I put the new duvets on yesterday. OH snored his way through till 7am when he decided to get up to join a long cycle ride.

I couldn't get comfy at all and was still awake at 2am.... Shattered againimage

I thought I would opt for 2 double duvets on our king size bed. OH likes a heavy full 13.5 tog duvet while I was still too hot under a much lighter 9 tog affair & am now contemplating going down to 4.5 tog in Januaryimage

Problem was there was just too much duvet everywhere. Felt like I was smothered in bedding. We have singles for the summer but they fall off / are not quite long enough / wide enough for winter use. Feeling a bit desperate having spent quite a bit of money on these duvets only to find I can't sleep...

    Morning all.

Know how you feel Topbird. I actually like sheets and blankets, more adjustable, but OH likes a duvet so when we got together I changed. He's also a duvet thief and rolls himself up like a sausage roll!

Better night, did wake and cough but took Benelyn Night Syrup. First cough medicine that has helped.

Don't take them all at once, Dove!

I've missed why Fidget is moving, too. Or was it on another thread?

    All this talk of sleep.

My "guests" at the museum didn't even think of going to bed until around 01:00 though I think that may be partly down to the huge slabs of VERY sweet chocolate fudge cake they had at supper.

I then had to set up my camp bed and settle down. Unfortunately I am always on alert during camps so never sleep well but we were up before 07:00  to set up the breakfast.

Home now for some beans on toast before I go out to meet a local scout group who need volunteers so I may be helping out if they deem me suitable.

    My sanity is questionable!

Dove I'm glad you're being well looked after.

I thought I'd posted a pic of my snowdrops peeping through the leaf litter but it's disappeared

Nice Dove - no sign of mine, although I haven't looked closely recently at the spots they're in. I'll do that on my way out to get T bags. Can't believe I forgot them on Friday - only about thirty left. That won't last long!

Need more paint for woodwork too, and should decide on wall colour for hall / bedroom, although I really can't be bothered looking at fifty shades of grey - literally. Why are they so many different colours of everything and so many types? image

Glad you've survived Clari, although I'm not sure why children are camping there. I must have missed that too. Seems odd to me, but maybe it's just me!

I can sympathise totally, T'bird and BL re the duvet thing. I found that difficult when a partner hogged the duvet or needed it hotter/cooler. Glad I'm single and can suit myself now  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Maybe children camp at museums as it's cheaper than getting a babysitter in?

Dull and grey today so no urge to go outside.

I am sat here with a Cosmos lying bum on the table, tum on my chest and head and paws attacking the zip fastening of my jumper.    Minstrel is sat watching birdies at the window.   She is finally over her singing phase so a peaceful night was had by all.   OH is now walking the dogs while I rest my bashed toe and make chilli jam with lots of ginger and garlic - good immune system boosting stuff.

Last night it was cold enough for OH to want to light the fire but we clearly need to master wood burner techniques as the house is now filled with the smell of smoke so windows open and scented candles on in all rooms.   For some reason, this one doesn't like paper screwed up under the kindling.

Sorry you're having to sell Fidget and hope you find what you need and can love.

Clari - yes mad.   Should be getting your house habitable before giving time to other things - unless the scout hut is warmer!

    Keep safe and well everyone.

A neighbour gave me about 2 kgs unripe / semi ripe cherry tomatoes which have been languishing in the freezer for about 3 months. Anybody got any ideas what to do with them? Don't really like green tom chutney & I've a shelf full of other pickles and chutneys anyway.

I was thinking about something like a green tomato / hot chilli sauce type of thing instead or perhaps a green tomato jam - but I'm not sure how or when I'd use either of them That's assuming they turned out ok in the first place - doesn't sound so good now I've written it downimage
