Went to small local English Carol Service last night, which I helped to organise. We had a sort of cocktail party in the church afterwards with sparkling wine, finger food and mince pies. I have a box full of wineglasses to wash this morning and a load of greenery that I used for decorating the church, which will now go in my house.
Then we went to dinner with friends in the village, so it was a good evening. Woke up late this morning. Saw the horses from the bedroom window standing patiently in a line waiting for breakfast.
I hope Wonky is feeling better today than she did yesterday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Lights at Kew were lovely ......well worth a visit✨✨✨
Found 2 nursing homes local to Dad that do convalescent care, and have places available. Chicklet and I are going to visit both today, and then to see Dad on the way back. The medics have said that once he has his antibiotics he can go out for the day, so we can collect him to have Christmas Day with us after all So looks like a plan is coming together. Think Dad is relieved - he sounded normal on the phone yesterday for the first time since he was taken ill......its obviously been worrying him. He has friends that have been in both places, with good reports, so fingers crossed. My Mum used to volunteer in one of them too - so that gives it a special connection
......any baby yet LilyP? I'm on tenterhooks too now !!
Just a word of warning, on Christmas Day watch his portion size and get him to pace himself - his stomach will have got used to smaller hospital sized portions and eating larger portions plus the richer food on Christmas Day can trigger problems ... been there and done that ... ending up in A&E on Christmas Evening with Pa ......... twice
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Thanks Dove! Another three of those and I'll be sorted.
Flowers; I used to do messy play at work and would find glitter in my car and house for weeks afterwards. It's amazing how far it travels!
Oh Chicky thank goodness you've got some choices for your dad. And that he gets to spend Christmas with you!!
That must be a relief, Chicky. I hope your Dad settles well into one of them.
Didn't realise you were from Southampton too Flowers
. Hope you are making a good recovery and the meds are keeping you comfortable.
Best wishes to Wonky too - STAY IN BED

Chicky - that's great news!!!

Excellent to have good first hand reports of both nursing homes Chicky.
A plus that your dad can have Christmas day out.
Great warning Dove - will definitely watch out for that
