Morning all. Is it going to get light today?

I've packed his lordship and his friend a lunch box as they're off out for the day now. Even before my food issues I loathed paying service station prices for food and drink; I also don't expect either of them to actually think about stopping to get something to take with them in case of delays (or breakdowns).

Don't I make a cracking mother / wife / maid to them both image

Reggie has had his breakfast (more tripe; BLEUGH!!) so today will be a full windows open type of day as I tidy the house.

Pat; have you any space for my washing? I'll wash it but I've no where to dry it! Looks like rain today so garden plans may be little and often. Or at least hopefully often.

Anyone need any ironing doing? I've the shirts and bed sheets to do so just sling it all on the pile and I'll get round to it shortly.

I have the friend in Perth. She gardens on what is practically pure sand.  She is now back after six months travelling, America, Caribbean, and UK to visit relatives. Her children are all back in USA, where they were born. One is engaged and has a child by a Canadian from st John's in Newfoundland.  I think they are now legally wed, but the wedding (blessing?), will be next August in St John's for family and friends. My friends children all have three passports, born in USA with  British  born parents, and bought up and schooled in Australia, and now naturalized Australian citizens. With that heritage, they are global citizens with itchy feet.

Hi everyone. I'm glad you reminded me Fidget about your friend in Perth. I couldn't remember who it was. Talk about world travellers. I hope they like hot weather. Perth has really been getting it this year.

plenty of room for your washing Clari. It dries very quickly, here.image

almost never iron anymore. Just farm clothes.

A bit of a food shop and some tidying is the order of the day ... thank you, but no ironing to be done here Clari ... it's woollies and undies today.

  • Morning all, hope all are well or either on the mend except for Dove's poor toe, take care x

Resting up after having my operation and keeping myself topped up with painkillers as the nerve blockers will wear off today and the pain will hit hard for the next 3 days. Had a heart issue after op which was a scary 4 hrs but all seems settled now. 3 months of resting up and hopefully I'll be as good as new..........well maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic there!!

Take care and have a lovely weekend x

  • Hello Flowers image and thanks x  You take care too - I'll do the shopping this morning and then we can both rest up this afternoon - I've got some knitting to get on with and there must be an old Christmas film somewhere on the telly - if your pain gets too bad I could knock up some medicinal seasonal mulled alcofrolic something or other image

    Morning all.

I hope your pain will be a lot less than you expect, Flowers. Sounds horrid. At least the resting up is in winter.

I stubbed the toe next to the little toe a few years ago on a wooden garden chair. Nothing broken, but the nail has grown back thick and deformed, tricky to cut. Hope yours is OK, Dove.

I have a friend from Perth but her second marriage was to a French man so she lives in Dordogne now, but goes to Perth in winter for two months to see her daughters and grandchildren.

More cards to write and mince pies to bake. If there's time this afternoon I could plant some more tulips.

Internet seems to be working this morning.

  • I wish........... alcohol and the meds are a no no. Sadly. x

  • It's ok Flowers - I have it on good authority that virtual alcohol is ok with absolutely any meds  image  and if need be, I can always drink it for you imageimage
