I think ours will go up next week too.

Car hunting not good yesterday. No V 70 D5 Volvo estates about. They are now discontinued, and all remaining stock gone.  No second hand ones about.  The new V90 is very nice, very pricey, and a three month waiting list.

All the leaves are off the Oaks here too. Just about five builders bags full to pick up.

Next week is hectic. Working Tuesday. At ragdale hall Wed, Thursday, Friday, being pampered. Friday night work xmas do at the best Chinese in Nottingham.  Saturday down to gerards cross for his family xmas get together.  If I,m not around, have a good week folks.

    Morning all, afternoon Pat,

Bright and sunny here today and Christmas decorations will go up today, but just because it needs to be off the to do list and there won't be any other time to do it. Having an early Christmas anyway as step womble and boyfriend are coming for the weekend of the 16th and its OH works "do" next weekend, so no other time to artistically assemble the tree image presents are going to be last minute shopping as with the job change, there's no spare funds until payday....think I'm going to need a couple of reindeer to get the delivery sorted!

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday! Let me know what your all cooking and I'll be over with a bottle! imageimage

    Morning all.

Lovely breakfast ( wee bit too much? ) to set us up for the rest of the day.

Finish packing and we'll be collected at 12.30. We land in Gatwick around 10 pm and then the 4 1/2 drive home.  Not looking forward to that bit, but looking forward to my own bed at the end of it.

We've had a wonderful time and the weather has been almost perfect.

I remembered on the way to the beach yesterday, I think Lizzie?? might be wrong, but yes, Loggerheads.

Catch you all tomorrow when we're back in  Devon.

Bright and sunny start this morning but a heavy frost on the roof tops and the trees and citadel to teh south.   Looks beautiful.   Sleepy start today.  Bed late as we didn't get home form teh cinema and shopping day till just after midnight and then some flipping alarm went off in a shop - till 3am!   I don't think I'm cut out for town life any more.   The good news is that we have found a camera for Possum so she's happy.

Lunch snacking round the Christmas market today and then long, slow cooked lamb shoulder for dinner with a treacle tart for pud.

Fidget - sorry about you car troubles.  Probably worth waiting 3 months for a new one if you have to if no other dealerships have one they can ship down to you.

Hosta - have a good trip home.   Glad it's been a good holiday.

Everyone - have a lovely Sunday.

Just come back from the retired Police Horse charity Christmas Fair. Met several people we know and I full of pulled pork baguette, chocolate cake and mulled wine.

Just back from our walk - the sun on the grasses (not yet beaten down by the winter weather) looked like a sea of gold ?

Now time for raisin and walnut bread for lunch ???

  • Gorgeous photos Chicky image

I didn't have any lunch 'cos I wasn't hungry ..... thought I'd save myself for slow-roast shoulder of lamb etc, but if there's a slice of raisin and walnut bread going begging I could probably force myself ... image

I'm due some sort of reward - all the silver has had it's annual proper clean (it just gets polished with a silver cloth the rest of the year, but it's all on show at Christmas and a proper clean means that it reflects the lights and gives the house a sparkle ... dear granny, she left it all to me because she knew I loved cleaning it  ....... I just liked being with her and helping her image
