Hosta hope you got some decent sleep. Liz Smith was amazing.

    Morning Pat and Dove.

Fell asleep around 5am and now I'm up for coal face duties.

    Lovely sky out there.

    Devon.

Morning Dove and Hosta. I had a good sleep. Don't envy Hosta having to go to work. We've had rain nearly all day which is appreciated. So nice to get some wet stuff. Sorry that you are getting bad weather over there.

Glad you've got some much needed rain Pat.

Lovely here to day, hardly a cloud in the sky and a lovely sunrise.

    Devon.
  • Milky blue sky here, a few rooks flying across the top, a starling on a TV aerial and a glimmer of frost on the roofs.

OH has just gone downstairs to make coffee.

Have a good day Hosta image

    Morning all.

After all the food shopping I did last week and we still have smoked salmon and mince pies, we have to go to the SM. Run out of milk, bread and butter.

  • We still have smoked salmon and mince pies too. The only bread we have are some of those part baked baguettes that we keep for an emergency, as the local baker didn't deliver our usual large sourdough on Saturday, but we have plenty of milk so we'll stay away from the SM for as long as we can ... Still some sausage rolls,  cold cockerel and gammon in the fridge - with jacket potatoes and pickles there's plenty for the next couple of days and then ill be boiling the carcass for soup ... we're not going to starve. If need be OH will be happy to exist on chocolate marquise and raspberries. image

Might have to brave SM later... people asking for 'normal food'!?

I find the 'emergency baguettes' are crucial for Xmas week - must have 'proper' butter too.

On Thursday I bought 2 sliced loaves, a round loaf and a couple of baguettes. On Saturday DIL bought 10 baguettes. I got a loaf out of the freezer on Sunday and other DIL bought 6 baguettes for brekkies on Monday morning. All gone. There were 6 packets of butter in the fridge, none now. I bought 6 litres of milk on Thursday, already had 3L. 2 daughters brought 4 more L each. That's all gone too.
